Doesn't make you feel like wow - I have to come back for more.
We spent about $400 here (boys night out; group of 12), and ordered a wide variety of dishes to really get a feel for the place.
Saturday night; the place wasn't packed but not empty either. Seating is definitely limited but spacious for guests. The chairs were already loose, and moving while sitting; definitely the chairs that Shoeless Joe's had there before perhaps.
The atmosphere has a romantic feel, with background melodies playing at the perfect sound level where you can still carry on a conversation.
The food again, is not cooked to order. If it was, the dishes were never piping hot as made to order food should taste like. Everything is served quickly, with not a lot of care it seems, around the quality: veechu roti was under cooked and not thin, garlic naan was burnt to practically a crisp, kerala baked fish was basically over-fried, and had barely any edible fish left, the biriyanis' (shrimp & mutton) tasted like it was made several hours ago, with the mutton being chewy and dry. Shrimp was fried fresh.
The best dish on the menu was the Mutton Sukka for $13.99. Now this was the only dish that really lived up to the name "5 Spice Dining." You could really taste something uniquely different in this curry; nothing like you've had before. Meat was cut into small bite size pieces (packed with flavour), with the meat being tender, flavourful, and juicy. This dish gets a 5 out of 5! You gots'to try this!
All in all, this place gets a 2 out of 5. I was contemplating a 3 out of 5, but they just lacked flavours. Not the worst food, but definitely not the greatest. Hopefully, they take the feedback and improve their quality, because they have the potential to be great!
The management and coordination of staff did not give us a smooth, and attentive staff type-feel. They had a lot of staff, easily more than 6 employees for about 25 people in the restaurant. It was hard to know who our waiter was! It's like the staff are playing crisscross with tables, no set structure. The attitude of the staff is outstanding; definitely professional, humble, and they laugh with you and converse.
I wish I could say, hey you gotta'eat here! A little pricy for their food; they're trying to be gourmet or fine dining: food is not quite there. Most people would complain, but that's just not our style. We try the food, but we may not return. At least try them out once, and see for yourself. This is just my...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at 5 Spice, and I can't say enough positive things about my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.
Our server, Subash, truly went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. He not only greeted us with a friendly smile but also took the time to get to know our preferences. Subash recommended some dishes that he thought we would enjoy, and his suggestions were spot on. He even helped us choose the perfect options for our young child, ensuring that our meal was a family-friendly affair.
The food at 5 Spice was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was a work of art, and the presentation was simply stunning. It was evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft, as every bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Whether it was the flavorful curries, the tender meats, or the fresh and vibrant vegetables, every dish was a culinary delight.
But what truly set this dining experience apart was Subash's exceptional service. He was attentive without being intrusive, always ready to assist and he made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. His knowledge of the menu and his genuine passion for the food made our evening unforgettable. It's safe to say that Subash provided us with the best service we've had in years, and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts in making our dining experience so enjoyable.
In conclusion, 5 Spice is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of delectable cuisine, exquisite food presentation, and exceptional service, courtesy of Subash, makes this restaurant stand out from the rest. I can't wait to return to 5 Spice for another unforgettable meal.

Read moreWent here recently. My family has been so they decided we went here for lunch. Was i absolutely irritated with this place when leaving. We were attended by a lady and Service was terrible. We had asked if we could take a table with a bench seat as it would be easier to sit with my son by my side. But we were refused since that’s a table for 5-6 and we were only 4. Although the restaurant barely had any customers at this point of the day. So okay sure we get seated and crammed between another two tables who were already seated although again there’s a bunch of space. I left it. When it came to ordering she comes back within 2 minutes asking if we were ready and we hadn’t even checked the menu. Then she advises us to call for her through a call button on the table when we are ready for order. Eventually we pressed the button when we were ready but no response. We pressed a few more times and still nothing and eventually I had to wave her down to get her attention. Food was very good and was happy with that. She was not a good server at all. We asked for a suggestion on what’s popular and she just told us to choose what we like… and completely disregards the question and us asking for a recommendation. Even to get our bill at end had to press the damn button so many times to get her attention as she stood around talking to the other servers.
To the management. You really need to either train your employees on better communication and customer service skills and get rid of these buttons on the table. A servers job is to be attentive to a customers need and follow up. Our server did not do any of that. What’s the purpose of a button if they don’t even respond to it. I get it maybe a convenience factor when stores packed but I really think this will be the downfall of the service side of things. Anyways my suggestions.
Personally if I do go back it would be for take out and dine in I would probably pass on if it...
