Seems to be the most unethical sweet store in Bangla Town. When buying sweets, one person at the counter told the price to be $16 for a pound of gur Sandesh (10 to 12 pieces). When finally went to pay at the cash, an arrogant and rude staff told you have to pay by per piece price of $2 (total $24). When informed her the other person just mentioned it's by per pound she started arguing and saying how can 10 pieces be 1 pound. It has to be 1.5 pound. When told her to weigh in a weighing machine at the counter it was found out to be 0.94 lb. Now this arrogant lady went somewhere and brought another weighing scale and was trying to prove her point. Luckily, the owner stepped in at that moment and asked the reason. Initially he was trying to stand by his employee but when told would give a feedback in Google review, the owner's behavior changed. He checked the sweets in the scale and found it's to be within 1 lb. Now that arrogant lady just scooted away from that spot (understanding that she is now caught hoodwinking customers). Owner apologized and said the price of 1 lb is actually $15 and not $16. Think of this situation!! Trying to take people's money in broad daylight by unethical business practices. Atleast the apology of the owner is the good side of this incident. Hope he trains his staff good and should see if that arrogant lady can be seen any further...
Read moreA very average place when it comes to quality of food and customer service. The following were the issues we faced: The puri was cooked from the outside and raw in the inside, possibly the oil was too hot hence the latter was raw. The tea had a lot of lactoderm from the milk which made consuming the beverage very unpleasant. Due to the lactoderm, I had to pour the tea in a separate glass to consume. When I returned the glass the lady infront started yelling as to why we poured tea in the glass. Like really if you just wash a glass with water and soap it will juat fine. Guess they want to save on the soap expense which is very unhygienic.
Will be avoiding this place...
Read moreToday, my friends and family got together at ABS for breakfast. First, we had paratha and luchi with lentils, vegetables, an egg omelet, and duck curry (instead of chicken curry). We thoroughly enjoyed the feast, which was served with dessert at the end, including roshogolla and vapa pitha. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable for family get-togethers. We were given a heads-up that the first floor will be opened soon for additional seating. Thanks to our friend Ripon, who introduced us to ABS. I'm sure our breakfast adventures will continue. Good job!!!! ABS team for the excellent service throughout our time in...
