I've gone to the Pickering location a couple times a year since it's been open, and I could never praise it mainly due to the service (long waits and sometimes no approach from servers) and how well they cook their steaks. (Generally desi's don't get steaks right), but today I still decided to give the Scarborough location a chance. I went in a group of 3 couples, so we all went for the 2 can dine for $34 which is a GREAT price. Now apparantly it was our waitresses first day, so I don't mind cutting a lot of slack, but I will share my experience. My main issue is the management or experienced staff because it seemed our server knew nothing. Firstly she gave us one salad per couple and we had to confirm it's per person. They forgot to give us the chips/salsa which we had to ask for, we also needed to ask for the side rather than being asked what side we would like. Our forks were placed on a shared napkin (only 4 napkins on the table) so we had to ask for more napkins as well as more water. The juices are somewhat watered down, and my veal was fattier than most, but there was enough meat and the taste was good. I also wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. Overall the food was tasty , filling, and enjoyable For dessert we went with the brownie and it was mediocre. Half of it was soft enough to eat and the other half was almost rock hard. To end off the night, for some reason, the fish and chips doesn't work out to price out the total so the manager added the prices from the menu which totalled an extra $2.50, and didnt just charge me what I should have been. I sent it back and they corrected it but it's a bit of a ridiculous thing for them to do. Overall, if you're not too keen on perfect service, the food is good and the price is unbeatable for the meal.

I went to this grill steak house because I saw the sign but not the halal sign and did not realize they didn't serve alcohol. That was okay for me as I don't drink but my hubby enjoys a beer with his steak. We got a seat right away and were served with a pitcher of room temperature water. This seemed like a normal thing so we went with the experience and did not order ice. Because the menu is expensive (for us), we passed on an appetizer. The restaurant is nicely decorated with traditional wall murals and grand chandeliers. There were three TV screens showing CP24. The food came in good time and was truely delicious. Good portions. I had the top sirloin which was 8 oz prime top sirloin steak served over onions and mushrooms topped with breaded four fried black tiger shrimps for $30.50. I ordered baked potato which came with shredded cheese. The cheese looked like that I buy from the grocery store. I thought the potato would come with sour cream, chives and maybe bacon bits but they prepare it differently here. None-the-less, it tasted good. The steamed veggies were nicely seasoned and not bland. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered (medium rare) and I was full and satisfied. My husband ordered the 12 oz. Rib eye steak for $38.99, my two boys ordered the stuffed Cajun chicken breast for $23.99 and the Double Cheese Affy burger for $18. I couldn't justify paying $7 for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate so we stuck with water. There was a wide selection of mocktails for those who want a drink. The service was good. My family will not return as we want to enjoy beverages and get more value for our money. For those who don't mind the cost and not having alcohol, I do recommend.

The first I went I had a really good experience. The food was food, the cut of meat was really good and huge, and everything was cooked well to my liking. I went again today hoping for a similar experience but I was greatly disappointed. Maybe they were really busy with only 3 staff members working the floor. Maybe the chef was overwhelmed. Whatever the case was, it was definitely a complete opposite experience. Service was not good, we had to come up to the waitress and tell her how we wanted our meat (instead of the other way around). When our food finally came it was undercooked and we asked for well done. However all the meat came with pink in the center except for the fried battered fish. Even the chicken had pink on it. We then told one of the staff that our food was not to our liking and they took the same pieces of meat and cooked it again for us. We were ok with this until we bit into it and it tasted disgusting. It left a black residue on our plate (probably from the grill) but the point is it didn't taste good. The chicken still had the same pink on it so we weren't even sure it was cooked again so we left it. Our chicken burgers was mostly bun with a piece of lettuce and no condiments. The only thing that was well cooked was the fish. Nothig tasted like the first time. The pictures below are pics of the stake the cooked again and it was completely burnt. On the second pic you can see the black residue we had on our plates and probably what gave it a disgusting taste. The third pic is the portion of chicken they gave my husband in his chicken burger.

Really disappointed. I wanted to celebrate breaking my fast with some coworkers Muslim and non-Muslim to celebrate Ramadan. I invited them to Affys for the buffet iftaar.

The good The booking was really nice and easy and they were happy to accommodate our large group The service was also good as they were trying their best to deal with a jam packed iftaar crowd. They were refilling the water as fast as possible as well The social media marketing. I saw the ig and TikTok videos of the buffet and it looked amazing The iftaar snack (every table got an appetizer of samoas, dates, fish, spring rolls)

The bad The food. I’m not a picky eater and due to being hungry and fasting I’ll eat anything. However this was beyond sadness. Everyone at my table had an issue with the food. From the steaks being overcooked or having too much gristle/fat to the food lacking flavour and salt. Some noted the food was cold as well. I felt really bad as my coworkers that were fasting and those that weren’t were really hungry and left this way which I’ll explain below. Refills. They were not refilling the steaks and some of the more expensive items. If you got the food in the first round and went for seconds or missed the only refill you were out of luck. I don’t understand the concept of charging for a buffet and then not having a refill. Also wasn’t there supposed to be some sort of dessert? Tip there’s a lot of dessert places in the plaza which you can hit up after and do that. I was just beyond embarrassed that I organized this outing and I personally had to apologize to each coworker for the lack of food. My coworkers mostly just got one plate of food and then everything ran out. I had a coworker who was a bit late just have a plate of rice and fries. Billing. You’re charging 39.99 for a buffet (understandable due to inflation) but then charging 9.99 for a mango smoothie? Also some coworkers had random prices on their bills when we checked after. Some paid 59 without a soda others paid 55 but had ordered a soda. It just didn’t make sense. If you’re charging this much please adhere to the buffet rules and have unlimited food.

I feel really sad as a Muslim that they did this. I don’t like to pick on Muslim establishments as they are doing a great service by offering halal options. The place was packed and they were just feeding on the hype and hungry Ramadan folks.

I’ll always provide feedback as well. They need to offer a buffet and refill those items they know will run out Double check the billing and ensure there isn’t some random price being applied to each customer Have hot sauces available at each table

Worst part is each coworker I went with is going to tell their friends and family not to go and this will hurt the business in the long run (word of mouth). Extremely disappointed at Affys, personally after paying 65 with taxes and gratuity I sat there on the drive home and wondered how much better food I could have gotten for that price. I’m going to be avoiding this place for a long time.

I should have read the...

STAY AWAY*

Came here with the family around 7:50pm. Once I was seated waited 20 minutes while the server was sitting down other customers.

In that 20 minutes not one employee came to our table. In that 20 also everyone that came after us got there order taken down while we were waiting for a server.

After our order was taken it was 45 minutes. I understand they were busy but everyone before and after us is getting there food. So we waiting at the 50 minute mark I asked the delay. They advised there is another table ahead of us and then it's our order. The waiter advise 10 minutes.

Now it's 1 hour still waiting. We see other people getting food still but not ours. Call the waiter they said they would be back to let us know.

Hour and 5 minutes later no one shows up. We ask another employee. Same story they said. Give me a few minutes to go check.

Hour and 10 minutes later same thing no one shows up to give us a update. We ask another waiter and they said 5 minutes.

Hour and 15 minutes later still nothing. Ask another waiter same thing happens does return. At this point we go to the counter to advise the manager what is this service. She said give her a few minutes to find out.

Hours and 20 minutes in manager didn't follow up yet but the waiter passes so we stopped and asked. He said I apologies I forgot to give the order. He said I just gave it and it should be 5 minutes. And as compensation they are offering free drinks only.

Now we go to the manager to advise what we are told extremely furious at this point. Manager comes by at this point it's a Hour and 30 minutes. Manager apologies said I can giv eyou some drinks and a free appetizer. I asked how much long for the food. She said I'm going to the back right now and should be ready in 20 minutes.

I got furious at this point. Was a Hour and 30 minutes to tell me order was not placed and it will be another 20 minutes. A total of 2 hours.

Managers respond they apologies and said please wait and sit we will make it priority. Now at this point they might rush the food and then we don't get quality.

Employees are just laughing when they caused this whole issue and no one wanted to actually properly take care of us.

I wish I could give a 0. Most likely the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The manager here was not honest with us and provided terrible customer service.

We came to the restaurant during Eid and I understand it was busy, but I do not appreciate being lied too. We were 2 people + a baby. Before being given a wait time, first thing manger said was we could not bring a stroller inside, which we later realized was an excuse for us to leave because we saw another group leaving with a stroller a few minutes later. We agreed and my husband went back to the car to return the stroller and we were told to wait 15-20 minutes to get a table. As we waited we could see tables being cleared and nobody sitting at the table.

After 20 minutes, another employee acknowledged us standing for a while and when he was looking to seat us, the same manager intercepted and told him that we can’t be seated because we need a reservation and his manager said they can’t seat us although there were empty tables.

Afterwards a group of 5 people came after us and she told them she has a seat for them, even though we came first. She did not even acknowledge us as she spoke to them even though we were next to them. The group even said to us “ Do you want to go first since you guys came before us” and we said no thanks because we genuinely thought at this point she was getting a table for us. So we went back to speak with her and she said if people don’t show up we can seat you. We said “ hey we came before them where is our table ?” She had the audacity to lie and say they had a reservation. We said no they don’t they told us to go first because we came before them“. She said “really? Are you sure”. She acted like she was actually clueless when she clearly knew.

Then after another 20 minutes a nice waiter sat us down cause she felt bad but they said your food will be ready after 1 hour and 45 minutes. They wanted us out so bad they tried moving us to another table to accommodate another group of people. On top of that, we had a baby with us. So we got so mad and left.

Honestly save your time and don't bother with...
