PLEASE READ CAREFULLY,, I’ve been going for awhile and overall it’s been decent to good, but sometimes would feel sick. Nothing major, just slight stomach aches. The guy is cheap! Napkins given are minimal, asking for any extras in the side( which I know and expect to pay xtra for) makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing the guy, and always talking on his earphones while doing you’re order. I went yesterday and another guy was working. Barely anything out, chicken legs looked old and the pan they were in looked so dirty and crusty like a pan you have to wash, and then I attempted to order the two beef wraps and noticed how dry it looked and barely anything meat on the spit. The fat on top was white, not translucent, so I asked if it was from yesterday and he nodded yes. So, I almost paid for day old dried beef. I said no thanks and left. The owner serves old meat and that’s dangerous and disgusting. Avoid if you don’t want stomach issues. I’ll be contacting Toronto public health today. Enough is enough. Because he wants to save money, he potentially puts people at risk of getting ill. I’m adding a picture, so if you zoom in and look closely, you’ll see the beef, chicken in the hot table and the two old lamb shanks. Gross. You’re not getting away...

I’ve been going to the Rexdale location at least once every 2 weeks for the last 2 years. Good prices, nice staff. Only one problem, they often run out of their specials. For example, today, they were out of falafel. I repeat out of falafel. I had to ask twice because part of me refused to believe it. They had no falafel on the Falafel Special Tuesday!! At 6pm...dinner time. Right around the time people would be coming to order ‘the special’ The staff were very apologetic and in all fairness, its not really their fault. However, this event made it ever so clear to me that they don’t make their falafel from scratch. Its all a pre-fabbed mix so when they’re out, they’re out! Also their hummus is pre-fabbed and too. Likely everything on their menu is not made fresh. I will still come back because the theyre specials deals are still good value. When they have them. **Last time I went, they were out of hummus. Out of hummus. Also, to boot, it's prefabbed, they don't even...

I decided to give Ali Baba’s another try (the first time was a letdown) and gave the fish platter a go. I’m glad I went with this dish because it was quite good! It was seasoned white fish filet marinated in lemon, garlic, cilantro and various spices. It’s served with a basic salad, hummus, tahini sauce and ‘hot’ sauce (the sauce is actually quite mild). I added a side of garlic potatoes. The whole thing was a nice medley of flavours. A nice tangy side from the tahini sauce and the turnips, a more neutral side from the hummus and the spices and hot sauce balanced it all together. The fish was tender and had flavour and the rice was quite good in the sense that it was night and day different compared to bland steamed white rice. Overall, I highly recommend...

I recently visited Ali Baba to order a chicken thigh platter to go. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The moment I walked in, the restaurant was extremely hot and humid it felt even warmer than the already 35°C weather outside. Both the staff and customers looked visibly uncomfortable from the heat. After placing my order and taking the food to go, I noticed that the chicken was extremely dark and dry. It didn’t taste fresh at all and seemed like it had been sitting for a few days possibly leftovers from previous service. The quality of the food just wasn’t up to par, which was really unfortunate
