Decided to try Tikka King while on hunger whim in the area. Did NOT disappoint... Even before stepping inside, One's senses are excited! Their simple almost non-descript outdoor signage brings you into a high ceiling space that is filled with Modern Minamalist chic decor warmly inviting you to settle into their comfy dining area that is filled with alot of natural light. The lively yet not blaring music welcomes you to settle in to peruse their extensive yet meticilously curated menu.
Starting with their Gole Market ke Tikki Chaat -WOW🤩👌hot & beautifully crispy potatoes nestled in their perfectly balanced sweet, slight-tang & a hint of creamy yogurt topped with fresh sweet onions & pomegranate arils was a signal that everything else to follow was going to be a mouth-watering delightful feast. I only wish they added more pieces of crispy potatoes, as the 4pcs was just a palate tease & certainly not plentiful to soak up all the remaining yogurt concoction. Next, our mains were chosen from their lunch combo listing -Chicken kabob roll & butter chicken, both very reasonably priced at $11.95 & $12.95. Both lunch combos arrived hot & quite obviously made fresh-to-order. We were delighted to see again each were a very generous portion. Flavours were EXCELLENT👌👌👌 When food is carefully prepared with such detail, the only words that can remotely give it any justice is to simply say 'Fantastic!!! You MUST try it yourself!' Their Naan is freshly made -a thin, warm centre enrobed in a glistening & perfect crunch exterior. I could've dined alone on their Naan & would have been satisfied😀
To ensure our meal was complete, we were surprised with their hot & pillowy-soft Gulab Juman -a perfectly round fried milk dumpling with the perfect drenching in their honey rose syrup that was not -believe it or not, overly sweet! A perfect ending to a perfect Indian cuisine dining experience👏🙌
The first steps inside, it was all a visual, smell, taste & overall experience 👌nothing less than 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, esp when our Fantastic Server -Avneet, was so friendly, attentive & willing to answer our questions and happily made recommends.
Looking forward to many more dining experiences here....a MUST try for those craving authentic...
Read moreI ordered Butter Chicken, 2 Samosas, and a Goat dish for dinner, and did not receive any naan or rice. Essentially I received two containers full of soup. I called the restaurant to ask them about rice or naan, and I was pretty much told that I didn’t order rice and so, did not receive any. There was no option to purchase rice as a side on their menu, and the woman on the phone was essentially suggesting that I purchase a $20 biryani dish if I wanted some.
She then asked me to place a second order for something small (like a samosa), and she would then send rice to me. I asked if she would send me two portions - one for the butter chicken and one for the goat dish, and she responds with “hmmmm no.” CHEAP. I spent $60 on dinner and an ADDITIONAL $7 just so they could send some rice and the restaurant wants to be stingy? It’s disappointing.
Once my second order arrived, I received cold rice 30 minutes after my first order (so my food is getting cold), and guess what? THERE’S NO SAMOSA! I ordered a samosa and didn’t even receive it. Ridiculous.
In 20 years of supporting East Indian restaurants, I have never had such a horrible experience before. I have ordered East Indian food all across North America and this is the first time I have ever had to fight to get a friggin’ side of rice. Note to Tikka King: RICE IS TYPICALLY INCLUDED WHEN SOMEONE ORDERS A DISH…and your naan is way overpriced.
Never again.
NOTE: 2:13pm on June 1st, 2025 - Tikka King responded to my review and told me “they had no evidence of my orders”…Nothing like being gaslit by a restaurant. 🙄
If I could give you another 1...
Read moreI read the reviews online before going to the place and I trust the reviews, everything looked good. The tables were set, the ambience was good. The service was excellent but then me and my Girlfriend were met with great disappointment, we ordered mutton seekh kebab and purani dhilli wala butter chicken. Starting with mutton seekh kebab- it was way too salty and too tender for kebab (maybe I have never had tender seekh kebab) but it felt like it was taken out of the freezer and put on the grill. Second, the butter chicken- no where close to what we had expected since it had chicken which was old enough to give us that essence while we chewed on it. That disgusted me for some reason, I did not complain or ask for a refund since the service was good and the server was kind enough to offer us complimentary gulab jamuns. Furthermore, its not their fault that the management is not keeping check on the inventory, please replace the old stale chicken, get rid of it. That ruins the experience, I love food and Everytime I go to any restaurants and I have some leftovers we ask for a container and take it out but this time we didn’t even bother asking for it. Even the girl asked if we needed a container but we just said no, was quite disappointed by the quality of food. Not complaining but just wanted to share an honest feedback with the owners who can make some changes which will further enhance...
