We have only been to Asian Buffet twice so far, but we will be sure to come again. This has definitely become my favourite buffet location. I am making a very detailed review because this place truly deserves it. The Rexdale locals know about this place that has been here for a long time, but if you are from outside the area like I am then here are my reasons why you need to check out this hidden gem.
The restaurant has a very quiet and intimate setting. Other buffet locations can be so loud between the other guests and background music that you can't even hear the people at your table, but at Asian Buffet, you can speak to each other comfortably and peacefully.
Their prices are still very competitive with other AYCE locations, priced lower than what Mandarin and many sushi restaurants now charge, and on par with Spoon & Fork's dinner price.
The variety of food is great, and I find the quality to be very good on most dishes compared to other buffets. It's prepared better than what Mandarin serves with their now-bloated prices (and, unlike Mandarin, this location still offers buffet all week and all day). I have tried mostly everything here except for the pork dishes, but I am sure that those are prepared well also. I am looking forward to trying the lamb if I can make it on the day it is served, which I believe I was told is Friday but I could be mistaken on that.
The cooking staff seems to put a lot of care into what they make. The hot table items are replenished very promptly and surrounding areas are constantly wiped clean for food droppings to make for a very pristine presentation.
The seating area is also kept immaculately clean by the very attentive staff who make sure the area beneath the tables are cleaned of any scuffs and dirt before any guests get seated there. I am very impressed by this degree of care that is put in to maintaining cleanliness, especially in these uncertain times of Covid-19.
As mentioned, the waiting staff are very attentive to your needs and will offer you refills when your glass is empty and take away your plates almost as soon as you finish the food on them. If I did have anything erroneous to comment on, it might be this one thing as some people may get a feeling that they are being watched while eating. However, this can't really be complained about because it is just very prompt, efficient service and some guests may find this to be a very good thing.
I don't really have a problem with this and find the staff to be extremely friendly and courteous, but if you do find yourself to be the type of person that would be made uncomfortable by this level of attentiveness then I would suggest taking another table that isn't under the direct, watchful eye of where the staff stand in the centre kiosk of the restaurant. Again, they are just simply providing fast and attentive service and this is a very good thing, much better than being neglected by the servers like with what usually happens at Mandarin restaurants.
I highly recommend coming to this place if you are looking for a nice buffet location (or even if you feel like ordering). I am sure this will quickly become your favourite like it has mine. There are many regulars that the staff know by name or remember the drinks they always get as soon as they come through the door. This is a place that truly cares about you having a quality experience and I will always come back to Asian Buffet for any special occasion or even just for...
Read moreThe chicken wings, black pepper beef and the fries were some of the best I’ve ever had in my life, honestly. Jesus Christ, those fries you have never seen anywhere else. They are truly amazing.
Sometimes the chicken wings run out but it’s not too long before they refill it. There was actually a few other items that were very nice as well including Some of the vegetable dishes.
The salad and desserts area are whack. I didn’t even try any of that stuff because I saw a really old man walking by it and coughing his lungs out.
But most of the food is very warm and fresh and very tasty. The guy that is cleaning all the tables and bringing drinks is quite fast and helpful.
But this is probably the funkiest place I’ve ever been to far as long as I can remember. The tables are covered in this white plastic that is sticky and not very clean. Most of the plates and cutlery are also not very clean. You can see grease streaks and sometimes Little pieces of food residue. I’m thankful to the Lord that I did not have to use the bathroom so I can’t comment on that. I would just go with all the other reviews stating that they are not a very pleasant place to be. Feels like you are eating at somebody’s house instead of at a restaurant.
I’m writing this the following day and I am still alive and I don’t feel sick. Spent some time in the bathroom but nothing too concerning.
Even with the funk, I am pretty sure I will return for the first three items mentioned.
If you go on a weekday at lunch it’s $24(Kobe) per person including a drink, tax and tip if you pay cash. They automatically add the 10% tip on the...

Asian Buffet, located at 161 Rexdale Blvd in Etobicoke, is a solid choice for those craving a variety of Chinese dishes in a casual buffet setting. The restaurant recently underwent renovations, giving it a fresh, updated look—though the restrooms are still awaiting their turn.
The buffet spread includes popular items like egg foo yung, fatty sausage, wings, fried rice, noodles, BBQ pork, and chicken balls. Most dishes are served hot and fresh, though some patrons have found certain items, like fried rice and chicken, to be a bit greasy or overcooked. The salad bar offers fresh greens, though it could use more attention to maintain its appeal. Dessert options, particularly the ice cream selection, are a highlight for many guests.
Service is generally friendly, and ample parking makes it a convenient spot. A seniors’ discount adds to its affordability, making it an attractive option for a wide range of diners.
Overall, Asian Buffet delivers a satisfying meal at a reasonable price. While there’s room for improvement in certain areas, it remains a solid choice for those looking for a no-frills, all-you-can-eat experience.
