I was immediately impressed by the beauty of this community hub. There are large crystals and beautiful, gentle lighting and comfortable furniture and even lovely tables that are carved from trees. I felt at ease right away, and at home. The door greeter is actually an old friend of mine; it was very pleasant to have someone so gentle and loving, welcoming as he does for all people!

I came for the dance on Friday night and totally loved the music; it’s techno but it’s somehow spiritual and mysterious at the same time-I love the room to dance; it’s nice and cool and comfortable. And when I needed to rest, I went up to one of the two rooms up a small flight of stairs which had cozy cushions and comfy chairs and nice tables to put your drink and loads of used spiritual and health books to read if you want.

I totally totally am going go back just for the café even but also for more dancing and seeing people, old and new friends, in such a home like comforting way.

The tea was great and there is a really good selection of very unique herb combos. I haven’t tried the food but it’s look like a good selection of alternatives for someone like myself; I have all sorts of allergies!

All in all, I’d highly recommend this place to anybody who’s looking for a relaxing, gentle time where they can be themselves; as wild and hippie-like and alternative as you are. I was pleased to that the rules are no drugs or alcohol; it just is so relaxing knowing those parameters are there to help people like myself feel safe and welcome. I don’t do any drugs of any sort, nor touch alcohol, and I truly believe it’s better to get high without those things. And that’s how I felt when I visited Alternity; I felt high just being there in the wonderful atmosphere with gentle lighting and huge powerful crystals, inspiring artworks on display, nice things for sale like the braided sweet grass, beautiful music and...

I have been to this cafe several times despite the rude vibe because of its location, but this most recent experience will be my last. They advertise sweetgrass, which you can purchase either by the bundle, braid or wreath but you have to order online and prepay and pick it up the next day. I ordered a sweetgrass braid and when I picked it up they gave me the worst quality sweetgrass wreath, that was already breaking in some areas. I said this is not what I had asked for and it doesn’t look good, but the staff member just said you can undo it to make it a braid yourself. I had already paid so there was nothing I could do. I had a little cry then I sent an email to the help account where I purchased it, and did not receive a response. As you can see from the picture, I gently removed the tip from the yarn that was fastening the ends together but the sweetgrass is already broken where it was bent into the wreath, and only one end is secured. I am very disappointed and will not purchase from them again.

One time I ordered espresso here and the barista said “oh yeah I remember when I used to abuse my body like that” and once I ordered a mocha and it was actually chaga. Would give zero stars if I could.

Updated to add that the business responded to me about the sweet grass braid, that they have been out of sweet grass stalks and braids, and knowingly give people wreaths no matter what they order, and then gaslight them into taking it. I have still not received a refund I will update if I do. Shame on...

WOW! How am I just discovering this place.

Perfect cozy Café of healthy beverages: smoothies, teas etc. Beautiful counter of vegan desserts that all look INSANE and like mini pieces of art. Cute retail area with health foods, essential oils- all the healthy supplies.

I randomly happened in after a long afternoon stroll around UofT and Philosphers Walk. Almost defaulted to my usual nut bar, then after a quick Google, spotted this neat place. It is HEAVENLY. Ordered my smoothie and asked if any of these lovely desserts happen to be dairy free? ALL! Whoa. It's been about 10 years since I've enjoyed a Tiramisu, it was so so so so good.

Took a seat up in the very cozy lounge: funky wood carved high tops, lounge pillows at short tables etc. It's so coze.

I'm looking very forward to returning with a book and spending hours here supporting this lovely business. The Turmeric Pineapple smoothie was insane too. Perfect renourish after a 13km walk. Lady at the counter was the perfect energy for this spot- kind, warm, welcoming, laid back, confident, cool.

Thank you x...

Alternity at 33 Bloor is a really great bar/cafe/event space. It has unique plant-based beverages and food offerings . I tried the cacao with coconut milk. I find the prices a bit high considering there is a university nearby. I love the vibe for events and believe it has a very unique feel to it. I came for the visonary arts festival and it was the perfect spot for arts and wellness oriented events. It's a popular spot, so be prepared for potential crowds. I know I will be back here and hope to attend more events. It is very close to St George station . Parking is available by street but may be a challenging to get to as it's a pretty busy street. Regardless make sure to check it out for the vibe and unique experience.
