This is the second time I've ordered from Anoush and both times the food has been bland, old, soggy, and I didn't receive what I ordered. The falafel is dry and bland. The hummus is runny. The garlic sauce tastes like chemicals. The garlic potato sauce looks like cheese and is incredibly oily. The portion sizes are horrible- the plate isn't worth it. You get more bland, store-bought fries or salad than you do actual Middle Eastern food. Don't waste your money here- it's not worth it.
Edit: ordered from here 6 months after my original review. I wanted to give it another chance as others I had spoken to said it was good. Well, nothing has changed. The falafel sandwich tastes okay but could use more filling. The falafel itself is soggy though. Some of the potatoes were overcooked and some were undercooked. The garlic sauce was oily. The fries were basically frozen fries and the best part of the meal. Now, the baklava... It is the worst baklava I have ever tasted! It is pre-packaged meaning they don't actually control the quality of it. There were no nuts or filling in it- just a bunch of phylo. It tasted exactly (I am not exaggerating) as cardboard. I am not leaving this review just to complain- I'm pretty easy going when it comes to food. But this place does not know what good, real Middle Eastern cuisine tastes like! Horrible quality and I will never give it a...
Read moreI'm not one to write reviews very often, in fact I believe this is my first Google review ever. However, after visiting a place I've been going for years, today I was truly disappointed for the first time here. Anoush is situated right around the corner from my work so I would visit once every week or 2 to pick up a chicken plate. The food was always good, portion was fantastic and the price was very good. In the last year or 2, the prices like everywhere else, took a bit of a hit and that's understandable given rising costs and the current economy, but the portion never took a hit. Today though, was the first time I truly felt ripped off. As I ordered my usual plate, it's almost as if the servers count every single leaf of lettuce, grain of rice and piece of chicken. I left with a portion half the size of what I'd be given for years and to pay almost $15 for it is just insane. I shouldn't still be starving after dropping that kind of money on a plate of food. Needless to say, this will probably be my last time here, which is a shame considering it's one of the only options in the area where you can find something...
Read moreI went in and ordered a Chicken Shawarma wrap and as I was watching, I saw the lady pack it in a paper and then grilling it and thought that it was weird. I did not question it then but after I sat down to eat it, I saw that the paper was literally glued to the shawarma. I pointed it to her and she told that I should have opened it another way and laughed loudly trying to blame me for what she did wrong. There was only one way to open it and besides, paper grilled to the shawarma is not going to change however I opened it. She did not apologize although she took it back and made me another one. I made sure that she grilled it without the paper this time. I wouldn't have had a problem if she had apologized for it. She laughed at a customer in front of other customers for 'not opening the wrap 'the right way' when she clearly did not know how to grill. Would...
