Taste of Vietnam Restaurant — Restaurant in Toronto

I had just landed back on Canadian soil after, was a bit hungry and felt like getting some Vietnamese food and this place was on the way home so we decided to try it out.

First of all, this is a nice little place with a nice decor and the staff was friendly. With that out of the way, let’s get to why I gave this place an overall rating of only 3 stars.

I was surprised to see such a small menu to choose from. I was actually craving for some Hainanese chicken but did not see it on their menu. Yes, I know Hainan isn’t part of Vietnam, but this is a pretty popular in a lot of parts of Vietnam and also a staple on Vietnamese restaurant menus (at least in Scarborough). It’s fine, I’ll get pho instead. There was a North Vietnamese style rare beef pho with no description as to what was “North Vietnamese” about it and there was also no indication of the size of the soup but it’s okay, I understood the “rare beef” part and that was enough and I didn’t inquire into it.

When I got the soup, the beef was all already cooked?!?!? I don’t know…is this what the North Vietnamese style is supposed to be like? This was very disappointing. But it was ~3pm and it was just something to hold me over until dinner so we just ate and then left.

We recently visited Taste of Vietnam and were blown away by both the food and the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for, especially our daughter. They set her up with a booster seat, a coloring page with crayons, and even gifted her a cute necklace, charm, and some lollipops—such a thoughtful touch that made her day!

The food was spectacular, not only in taste but in generous portions. Each dish was rich in flavor and authenticity. One of our friends was unable to receive steamed rice due to limited supply since it was the end of the night. The staff immediately made up for it by offering a heaping portion of delicious fried rice as a replacement. Their quick and thoughtful response was truly impressive.

Overall, Taste of Vietnam is a gem. From the passion and kindness of the staff to the incredible dishes, it was an experience we won’t forget. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a heartwarming and...

This place succeeded all expectations! First thing you notice walking in is the bright neon sign on a grass-patch wall followed by a nice open space. The atmosphere is very clean & minimalistic but gave off home-vibes! I love the menu; most pho restaurants have many options for stuff (E.g. C1-C54 😵‍💫) but here they give flat price of M/L size pho and you choose 1-3 toppings making it SO MUCH easier to condense menu & so much simpler to order! && THE FISH SAUCE CHICKEN WAS MY FAVOURITE && it’s ACTUALLY such a good deal (10 pieces for $14) 🙏🏽 The service was amazing- SO welcoming & you know they good when u order large pho && they already gave you 2 side plates & you didn’t even have to ask! Overall, an amazing experience && would come back again!
