Atithi — Restaurant in Toronto

I shall have given 4 star but, I'm deducting 1 star because of staff's behavior and customer support. There's a well saying you won't remember 100 good things, but will never forget 1 bad experience and that does apply to the loyal customers like many. Being a proud Indian, I really like Gujarati food especially Dal (made of Pigeon pea or toor dal) & rice. Atithi is considered for serving best Gujarati Dal with authentic taste. Thinking of which, I placed an order this morning for 1 fix lunch thali where it was clearly mentioned including Dal & Rice as default in menu and when I received my order it was Khichdi & Kadhi. When, I initially called at restaurant before placing the order for which sabji they are serving today they never mention that I might receive Khichdi & kadhi in fix lunch inspite of my favourite Rice & Gujarati Dal, nor they suggested I should write specifically in note section while placing order to have Dal & Rice. After receiving the wrong order, I was under the impression that the associate who handled this order would understand and atleast accept their mistake instead he was so rude to handle and drop all the mis-communicaton fault on me. I'm not asking for refund and I have no interest of wasting my time to write this review but being a loyal customer I'd like to suggest if a restaurant can't serve the right order, atleast have courtesy to accept the mistake instead of yelling at customer.

Despite of this, I'd suggest one to try "Samosa Chaat" it's awesome, but be aware of staff!...

WORST Customer Service ever. Rudest Employees, specially Keshav (Guy with the glasses 👓) idk if it’s his real name or name though.

We had a birthday dinner celebration at Atithi. We arrived there around 12:30am on Oct 06th, 2024 and ordered food within 10min of arrival.

We had ordered 5 Sabjis and 20roties, 1 Pav Bhaji, 11 butter milk and some other sides too.

After inquiring about the update on order around 1:45am due to too long wait time, the same guy in front is saying we ordered only 1 sabji and 20 roties. I means isn’t it too late to let customer know about mistakenly taken the ordered by him ??

At the same time, That guy is responsible for mistreating and misbehaving with one of the girl from our group after asking for updates on food. STILL NO FEELINGS ABOUT SAYING SORRY TO HER.

We were again asked to wait and after loosing all the patience, we decided to leave the restaurant at 2:00am which is actually restaurant closing time. And then they insisted us to sit down and they gave us food.

“I had the very similar experience before 2 years roughly and thought to not come back to this place, and still this time I chose to bring my friend circle for Birthday Party Dinner at Atithi. Guess what, I HAD THE SAME OLD DISGUSTING AND WORST EXPERIENCE; AGAIN. “

Sorry but you guys spoiled it clearly for us.

Don’t know what happened to this restaurant from last 2/3 years which was one of the best restaurant we had...

Such bad place to visit and owner of the place is a liar! Me and my friends ordered food from there and they served us old dried up food which was not fresh at all and it was clearly evident! After this we talked with the owner and told him about this so he told us that he will be giving us the refund as we trew the food! After this as i stay in hamilton so i had to come back so i called the owner and said this on Monday that my brother will be coming there as i have left for hamilton and he stays in toronto so he will coming at the store and i have shared your number with him and i also provided the name of my brother as well that he will be coming! Now my brother went there twice and been calling him but no response so had to come back! Today when finally the owner picked up the call he went there and talked with him- owner says that someone came at the store same day in evening or next day in afternoon to pick the food taking my name! I messaged the owner on Monday stating that i left for hamilton so my brother will he coming there than how come someone picked up the food and owner didn’t mentioned it lol. He is clearly lying so that he don’t have to give refund for old and disgusting food! Owner’s name is “KALPIT”! SHAME! When my brother told him that we all will put review he told yes go ahead and doesn’t even care lol! Kalpit Liar! Such a Shame! You have ruined your business doing...
