I really hope the owner can see this review. As for the customers, beware of a man in a ponytail working here. His customer service is atrocious, and he will not hesitate to speak down to you as if you are garbage, and play the victim.
Earlier today, I visited Blaze Pizza for the first time, lured by its impressive 4.5-star rating. However, I had a terrible experience between 5:20pm - 5:40 pm on Wednesday, April 26th.
Upon arriving, I requested a large thick crust pizza, but was informed by the person making my order that they don't have large, but could do regular. I thought they understood that I wanted thick crust but later on, I noticed the other worker preparing a very thin pizza. So, I asked if it was thick and reiterated my order.
That's when the situation took a turn for the worse. A man with a ponytail spoke to me in a condescending tone, claiming I was rude. I wasn't being rude, but merely disappointed and requesting for it to be remade. However, he continued to interrupt me, speak rudely, and even threatened security, which was completely unnecessary.
I understand that pricing might have been an issue, given it was my first time there, but good customer service entails apologizing and remaking the pizza. At no point were they courteous or respectful.
The man with the ponytail was particularly belittling, and I hope the owner checks the camera footage to see how the workers spoke to me. It was frustrating to deal with someone who would cut me off and make stupid remarks when I wasn't being rude or demanding.
It was such a bad experience that I'm telling my friends and family to avoid this location. The customer service I received was pathetic and accusatory. I'm not disappointed that they didn't make it a thick crust, but their disrespectful behavior towards me was unacceptable.
Lastly, the guy with the ponytail even asked me to remove my AirPods and mask, which I found utterly baffling. I hope the management takes the appropriate steps to address this kind of behavior in the future, so no other customer has to go through a similarly...
Read moreTried Blaze pizza for the first time at Yonge and Sheppard, just outside the Sheppard Centre. It is quite the experience and to sum it up, it's like Subway sandwiches style assembly line but for fresh pizza. The staff were super friendly and kind as I stumbled through designing my very first "choose all the opping you want pizza"
The process starts by choosing if you want one of the Blaze designed pizzas or to make one of your own. They then grab a ball of pizza dough put it in a press like contraption and come back in a flash with a personal sized pizza dough stretched out and ready to be layered with your toppings of choice.
The toppings selection is amazing, fresh and overall seem to be good quality. The cheese selection is one to be creative (I went all kinds of crazy and tried 3 different kinds (gorgonzola, mozzarella something something-- thought it was boconcinni, and some other yummy cheese I don't remember the name of). After selecting your toppings, your pizza goes into an open flame pizza oven and is baked right in your face, you can add some post baked sauces like balsamic reduction, or buffalo sauce, but they also have parmesan, chili flakes and Tabasco sauce at your disposal.
For the individual pizza and regular sized fountain drink my combo came to about 16.00 before tax which is a little pricey for a quick bite, but it was soo worth it. They also offer some very tasty and what I assume are healthier drink alternatives to the soda machine. I will definitely be eating here again and encourage you try it...
Read moreFood is usually on point. I always just double check my order because I usually order ahead online and a couple of times prepandemic they missed a couple of toppings on my order, but they have been pretty good since then. I have frequented this location and the one by dundas Square. Yesterday was the first time I found there was one strand of red hair in my food at thus location. I took a slice out and a red hair was peeping out from under the slice next to it. I don't have red hair, the two guys working didn't, and I couldn't tell if the female working there had red highlights, but if she didn't I'm not sure how the hair even made it's way in the box. Anyways I had to go back and cut into my lunch time to get it replaced. The staff there looked a bit perplexed, but they made me another one and gave me a free lemonade, which was nice. I will still go back because I've been going there since it opened and this was the first time ever it occurred, so it was an anomaly. Blaze is one of favourite pizzas and I just can't go back to eating all those other mass chain pizzas, the oven, the crust, and variety/quality of ingredients makes all the difference. I will just always be double checking my food when eating though. That said I do recommend Blaze. Once you find your combination, there is no going back. It took me 3 or 4 tries to find the combination...
