Definitely one of the worst restaurant food experiences I've had in recent memory. Passed by and thought I'd check it out since it has such good reviews and I happened to be craving pani puri. It's obvious now if you look into the reviews, they are mostly bots and fakes, and the low rating ones are all real. When a business has many 1-2 star ratings sandwiched between a million 5 star ratings that is a tell tale sign. It's very obvious none of their stuff is made in-house and comes premade/frozen and then microwaved and heated up. Tasted disgusting and unpalatable. We were starving yet did not finish our food. More detailed review of each item below. The place was pretty busy but it's obvious their clientele is majority international students on a budget and their friends. So if you are looking for the cheapest possible food just to fill your belly, then this is the right place for you. My review of each item: Paneer Makhni: Gravy was very obviously from a jar because I've bought those jarred ones before and it tastes and looks exactly the same. Nothing good about it. Paneer was still COLD in the gravy - I wish I was lying... - Vada Pav: Bread was not proper, potato patty was obviously frozen and then microwaved. Overwhelming taste of artificial green chili chutney. - Naan: They use the naan from Costco - I've bought it before and know for a fact. They didn't even use the good brand. - Puri: Really cheap quality puri, no crunch to the dish at all. No balance of flavour, just an overwhelmingly sweet taste because of some bad tamarind sauce they use. Really horrible and did not satisfy my craving. Left feeling very disappointed. If you're considering coming here, I suggest you go to your local grocery store and purchase all the items and make it yourself. It'll taste better and be even cheaper. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY BELOW: If you are asking me how puries can remain crunchy even with all the sauces, this is a big RED FLAG as to why your restaurant has such poor reviews from real customers. (If you filter by lowest reviews, that's whre you'll see all the real ones). Why don't you go do some research around the city where numerous restaurants are able to pull this off? You acknowledge many students rely on your restaurant for budget food. Perhaps you should take on that responsibility to make it truly tasty and homey. There was simply no excuse for the quality and taste of the food that I ate there.

Very few places who make Vegan pav bhaji ( which is no rocket science) Travelled all the way from downtown Toronto to have vegan pav bhaji. Sadly it was not up to the mark. Too much oil and spices the food gave us stomach ache & heart burn. The misal pav was even more oily and spicy. The Pani Puri however was the opposite. The mint Pani was tasteless and felt like a drop of flavour in water. The filling for the Puri was also bland and they didn’t even serve the meetha chutney. The big plus point is that they are pure vegetarian and they were willing to prepare vegan pav bhaji. They also use vegan butter and cheese which is commendable. If one is not too precise with flavours oil and spices then it’s a good place for mumbai chats and snacks. Vegan options available. Maybe one can ask for less oil and spices ( not sure but can always try) Decent and inexpensive food joint in Scarborough. The server was attentive and informative. Hopefully, if they improve, correct balance of flavours spices and oil the place would be amazing.

It is a cozy little place to dine in or to take out. I appreciate the Person working there. At first when I ordered Samosa Chat, I was expecting crispy Samosas with chole and sauces. But, I was told that they freeze the samosas and fry it and microwave it for the chat. That’s why samosas were soggy. TBH.. I am one of those people who eat samosas for the flakey crispy crust. Samosas are my cheat meal once a week and if that is not right - i feel sad. When I bought this to her attention, she was gracious enough to accommodate my preference and made a new chat for me with relatively crispier crust samosa’s. That was super generous of her and of course ! I am a fan for their sugar free Chai. ❤️

My review of each item:

Paneer Makhni: Gravy was very obviously from a jar because I've bought those jarred ones before and it tastes and looks exactly the same. Nothing good about it. Paneer was still COLD in the gravy - I wish I was lying...

Considering all the good reviews, we decided to visit this place, we ordered “Bombay cheese toast”, “samosa chat”, and tea. Initially we decided to eat in but as the place was too small and we felt “claustrophobic” we decided to take out, when I told the guy working at the billing the same he said and I quote “ Are you sure? Is it finalized? You wont change it again right” with a disgusted look, and finally we got our food and the tea was very COLD, don't call yourself an indian food place if you serve cold tea, when we asked him about it, the guy was absolutely arrogant took the tea back and said “we don't have anymore tea, here’s your money” , we visited this place at 7:30pm, and apparently they are open till 11pm but are out of tea at a peak time.

About the food, the sandwich was obviously cold( obvious when your tea is also cold) and the cheese inside the sandwich did not even melt.

I usually don’t write negative reviews because it could be a one time thing but the amount of arrogance by the guy at the counter and the way he treats his customers (I sincerely hope he is not the owner), and the garbage food makes me right this review.

Note* - The guy at the counter I don’t know his name was interested in watching the Television rather than being attentive to customers, hopefully the management can do something about their staff.

If at least the service was good I would’ve e let go of food only because mistakes can happen. its absolutely disappointing and I have a feeling that other reviews might be fabricated.

My first time visiting this place after hearing an ad on the radio.. I got pani puri and pav bhaji and honestly it was not worth the price and and the time. The pani puri had nothing in there.. it was only a bit of chickpeas not enough and no other things.. the water for the pani puri was just full of spice... not good at all. The pav bhaji was bun like burger buns and the bhaji wasn't what it is in Mumbai. If you're from Mumbai you know what I'm talking about.. secondly I come from a chefs family so this place is a rip off and the ad shouldn't even be there on the radio cause it doesn't deserve an ad. Lol Sorry to say.. you can't fool people with food like this and calling it traditional Indian fast food when it's made with no heart and no effort clearly.. all it is is spice spice and spice no flavors at all.. and being served on disposable plates and giving the meethi chutney after when you should serve with it in the beginning. Also getting very disturbed by the man keep staring and couldn't eat comfortably. The only thing that was same was staring like they do in india 🤣 I wouldn't even give one star but I had to. I don't recommend this place to anyone and you guys need to stop fooling people with food like this.. Can't even call it food sorry. Lassi was OK... This is my honest review. The rest here are just boosting like you guys seriously don't know what real Bombay is. And maybe you should change the name. Don't use Bombay when you know nothing about it. That's my home town. I'd know better still. Don't waste your time and money going there.. they're so cheap with their servings.. pretty...
