Milky Lane Cafe — Restaurant in Toronto

Milky Lane was something I've wanted to try for quite some time and checked it out because of all the hype.

🥘☕️ This menu is 100% halal and has so many dessert and food options to choose from. We ordered the Chicken Basket (7/10), Loaded Parcel (7.5/10), Tiramisu (8/10), and Bueno Waffle (6/10).

Chicken Basket (Shareable) This was an ok dish, there was nothing great or bad about it

Loaded Parcel (Shareable) Was one of the better dishes we ordered that night Flavourful and delicious

Tiramisu Tastes amazing Good and strong coffee with soft cake fillings The other better dish of the night

Bueno Waffle We purchased two, but both of them were different in presentation Waffles were also smaller but similar in price to their competitor (D-Spot)

🕑 Good hours and is open late into the night, and it has plenty of seating available.

🌿✨️ The aesthetics of this place are cute and vibrant, and the murals on the walls highlight Toronto's gems and accomplishments also done by a local artist so kudos to Milky Lane! One thing we found "interesting" was their music choice. The whole time we were there, they only played Justin Beiber's songs (someone working there was a fan lol). We visited during a busy time where there were plenty of people there so we found it quite odd that they chose their playlist. By the time we left, we were relieved to have Beibs out of our earshot (1.5 hours of non-stop Beibs is a lot for anyone lol).

🤍 Customer service is alright. There were messy tables, and no one came to check up on us (i.e., water refills, utensils, if we wanted to order more). The ordering/paying system is quite confusing too. We waited at our table for a bit thinking someone would take our order, but found out that we needed to do so at...

I love the overall vibe of Milky Lane Cafe! The neon signs, the mural and the colourful seating all really come together in this trendy spot. We went an hour before closing and the cafe was still surprisingly busy but regardless of the number of people being served the food quality was top notch.

We ordered two shakes, the Raffaello and the Ferraro Rocher. Both were true to the flavour of the chocolates and had their respective Raffaello or Ferrero truffle chocolate at the bottom of the shake. I personally liked the Ferrero more even though I had never tried a Raffaello milkshake and very excited to try it. The flavour for the Raffaello tasted slightly bland and watery, it would have tasted better lined with a chocolate sauce like the Ferrero. Otherwise both shakes were tasty and reasonably priced.

I absolutely loved the Simp for Shrimp! I opted to have it on peri peri fries instead of colseslaw. The dish was crispy and simultaneously saucy with a tangy flavour to it. The shrimps’ quality and quantity were both amazing. Most places tend to skimp on the shrimp but the portion size was quite generous. This dish is a must try and will be a big hit with anybody who remotely likes shrimp.

I went to this place once before after hearing amazing things. The Day I went was cold and late at night. It eventually got busy and my biggest complaint was the service. Took us forever to get our food.

Because I really wanted to give it a second chance I went here for my birthday with some of my friends and family members. There was a total of 7 adults and a kid. We were the first ones there before they even opened.

The staff seemed friendly and nice and got us seated quickly. However after that it was a long and horrible waiting game for everything. They didn't even give all of us water. Our order took so long and there was only one person working the floor. The staff person kept apologizing and said they were understaffed. It seemed a staff was running late. It happens. But even after that staff showed up we were still waiting for ages. They didn't even come back to ask us for the rest of our order. We had to flag them down and go to the front desk. All of the people I brought to celebrate my birthday, agreed that the food was good but the service was horrible. In the end I didn't even order dessert after my meal because I didn't want to wait another 2 hrs for it. Though they did give us a random dessert on the house to acknowledge their bad service.
