WARNING!! Not hakka food. It's basic Chinese food. We ordered szechuan shrimp fried rice, chicken pakora, manchurian chicken, fried dumplings. Not at all to my hakka expectations. Dumplings came out first steamed 13 small size, mildly uncooked dough was still raw. I asked to get it fried. 2mins later it came back out soaked in our and burnt edges served with light soya sauce. To be very frank it tasted exactly and looked similarly to dumplings sold at Costco. I have doubt it's costco dumplings selling for $5. Chicken pakora was crispy, yellow and had green chillies. Chillies were uncalled for and unnecessary. It was below fine. I stopped after one pakora. Fried rice was red, I could count green pea pieces, some carrots, small shrimp and left over rice. It was whatever I could have done it better at home. Lastly dish that surprised me the most when we got chicken manchurian served haha I kid you not I have enough manchurian to know. It was general chicken/fried chicken pieces with mild thick red sauce with some onions. I am very disappointed and never be returning to have their version of "Hakka" it's community chicken restaurant. It's a spam and false advertising for HAKKA food. Come here if u want low average...
Read moreHakka Cottage Cheese on Markham Road is one of the best places to enjoy authentic Indo-Chinese food, but what truly makes it stand out is the outstanding service provided by Tony. From the moment I entered, Tony greeted me with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that instantly made me feel welcome. He is truly a gem of a person who goes above and beyond to ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
The food here is absolutely delicious—signature dishes like Dragon Chicken, Bombay Paneer, and Chicken Manchurian are packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and full of that rich Indo-Chinese taste we all crave. But beyond the amazing flavors, Tony’s dedication to quality and consistency elevates the whole dining experience. He takes the time to check in, makes sure the food is fresh and up to standard, and his cheerful personality adds a personal touch that you simply don’t find everywhere.
Because of Tony’s kindness and commitment, every visit to Hakka Cottage Cheese feels special. It’s not just about eating great food—it’s about being treated with genuine care. That’s why I’ll keep coming back again and again. The restaurant is lucky to have Tony, and so are...
Read moreI wish there was an option for 0 Star rating because the chinese guy who works there doesn't have any communication skill instead he was rude and talked with me in a very judgy tone. He didn't even let me finish my sentence and left the spot. I was there to ask him if there was any vacancy currently and he could have simply said no right but he said " Have you worked in Canada?" and me having an experience of working in Canada (in a restaurant ) replies "Yes, I do have an experience " Then he literally said NO. I mean either this guy do not understand English or he has zero interpersonal skills. He didn't even listen to what I was saying and he didn't think it was even important to tell me why he said no. You should be respectable and treat others with respect. I would just walk away if there was no hiring cause I would obviously not try to forcefully get the job. I guess I wasn't a customer there that's why he did that but yeah Maybe I could also be a potential customer in near future. Do only customers deserve respect?? Only people who brings money in the...
