Third visit. Review as eating lunch special. Place is old and rustic. No big deal. Washroom is down stairs there was a smell. Asked a few questions about special which they didn't even offer... had to ask and still vague. No big deal. Ordered lamb curry lunch special(comparing this to indian restaurant on browns line n other visits). Food Came very quick but wasn't too hot... the veg side was better than my other visit here(macaroni?) And more than other restaurant I comparing it too. Good. The lamb was not top notch bit rough...n only 4 pieces big booo... the curry was nice. The other place more lamb n robust. Rata was good but no mint sauce. You do get a pop though. The naan was ok, other place was fresh and crispy although oily it was made to order instead of more store bought feel it was ok n did it's job. The big negative for was no rice with naan . I didn't even finish the yogurt. Usually with rice n naan, I just finish everything the other place. That with parking I won't be here again soon... still good food just not as good as the other place. Still good food...oh I didn't find them rude at all. Oh thinking veggie dishes should be cheaper, all in al rather go to Feast of Dilli even if the veggies side aren't as good n no free pop which I don't care. The serving size dishes are the same. Just one is bolder Spicer.

Indian owner Shilpa and her very cordial head chef 'Bright' - are wonderfully nice, good people, as are Shilpa's entire family! They create and provide excellent, healthy Indian food from 'Bombay By The Lake.' And they do their best to accommodate people. For example, if you cannot handle very spicy foods, like I am challenged to tolerate, they are happy to do their best to accommodate you. But if you are an Indian from India, or person who can easily handle very spicy Indian food, they can certainly provide that for you as well. Another example: if you are sick and home-bound, they may deliver to your door, and with pleasure. Customers can also order to pick-up. These are just some of the good things I am aware of, with this restaurant, their kind owner, and the very considerate people who work there. Super nice people and very good, healthy Indian food, from real Indian people, from India. One of Etobicoke's and West Toronto's wonderful cultural highlights. I didn't even mention some of their fantastic Indian dance-music videos they show in one area of the restaurant; wonderful talent! Much respect.

We came here on a weekday(Tuesday evening) for early dinner. Ordered Chicken hakkah noodles, veg manchurian gravy and Garlic naan. The food was not great. It was below average, Except the Garlic naan. That was good. Besides, The service was extremely disappointing. The naan was not warm at all. Upon requesting the owner who was serving us, she threw a tantrum and said, ‘I just got it straight out of the tandoor!’ in an extremely rude tone. So she went to the kitchen and told her chef (Deliberately said it out loud) that the naan is ‘COLD’! 2) We were almost done eating but still were hanging out, she interrupted to ask if we were done. (Subtle way of saying we should leave) and the entire restaurant was empty (can be seen in the pictures I have shared). So overall not a great experience and won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I am Gujarati man, whom has hunt around the world to eat best vegetarian food. I found Bombay on the Lake as one of the restaurant, every one agree so we went and ate buffet lunch on the very first day they launched .

The food, I have no word to describe - I literally kiss the fingers of cook, A young boy in his 30,but the taste was so authenticate and the best part, that their food was fresh, with great taste very clean.Excellent place to eat with family and friend. Me , Filipino friend and we two gujarati all liked the food equally. Thank you Mrs. Chauhan, your hospitality is great felt at home away from home..

This is what I always wanted Indian food to be, but never was. This food is very flavorful and high quality! I am high on the deliciousness. I have zero reservations about recommending this place. Probably the best Indian food on Lakeshore and I have eaten at a few of them. This is the one.

Being Indian I know the taste and the flavour of Indian food. And the food here is one of the best I have ever had in Toronto.

I saw the last seven years winning awards and I really think that they deserve these awards...

If you guys want you try real aunthetic Indian food try it out , I m pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

The high light was absolutely the butter chicken. Flavor for days.

Can't wait to go again and share...

We ordered a few dishes from here a couple of nights ago and the food was okay. The naan were tasty, and the daal makhani and aloo jerra were decent. The prices were also reasonable. However, there was a bit of a mix up with our order and one naan was missing. When I called to follow up with the restaurant, the lady took a simple situation and make it go bad very quickly. When I explained to her that there was a naan missing, she told me that she packed it herself and it was in there. I explained to her that there were only two vs. three naan. She asked me, a few times, to count again and make sure. At that point I became irritated and explained that it wasn’t possible for me to miscount the number of naan I received. I felt pretty insulted. She then proceeded to tell me that she would make the naan but I would have to pick it up. We ordered through Skip the Dishes. Given the situation I wasn’t able to. She then proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t her fault or her problem and it was the fault of skip the dishes and that I should take up the issue with them. I called them and they offered a credit for the missing item. In the end, not great customer service on the restaurants part. I was pretty disappointed by the end of my conversation. I won’t be ordering...
