I have never written an internet review on anything before, but overall the experience here, left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to. After being told it was a wait upstairs by the hostess, we headed downstairs and stood at the door while 3 servers made eye contact but didn't say anything to us. Eventually I pulled someone aside to ask if we were to seat ourselves, and her rely made it seem like it was obvious that we should, even though they seat you upstairs. So we found a table and waited for about 10-15 minutes for anyone to take our order, while a table who had just walked in got their order taken before us. We eventually got a server, who informed me that they only served 16oz and 24oz glasses no pints, that a pint was 18oz and that a 24oz glass was almost half a pitcher, none of which is accurate. He informed me I was probably thinking of an American pint, and they served British pints, and that they were special because most bars lie about the pint size. Fact is an imperial pint by definition is 20oz in England. I didn't bother to correct him. We get the beers with no head (this is important, it keeps the carbonation in) and about 3-4" from the top of the very wide glass, so it was probably less than a pint, while other tables had them poured close to the brim. I wouldn't have cared normally, but I ended up paying $12.25 for a mediocre not even pint of "craft" beer (they have the same draught list as upstairs, and higher prices) The live music was actually quite good, but no one came over to offer us another drink until we were ready to leave, and two of us sat with empty glasses for over 30 minutes. So no, I'd never go back here if you paid me. I'm a server and I know beer back to front. I am very sympathetic and kind to others in the industry, but buyer beware! This place masquerades as a beer bar, but they have literally no...
Read moreBrowsing Toronto for a Saturday night hangout and stumbled upon this little gem. Off a side street off of Bloor, Brewhaha was located on the lower level under Duke of York.
Went around 7 PM and the place was pretty quiet, which was nice. A small selection of board games were available including Cards Against Humanity, Operation, Connect Four, Trivia Pursuit, and Clue.
The food was also great! In a cute pub style option, they offered little baskets of items for $5 each, or deals of 3 for $15, 4 for $18, or 5 for $20.
Splitting with a friend, we ordered the 5 for $20 option as the waiter told us each basket was a small cube. We choose to try the sweet potato fries, potato pancakes, samosas with chutney, burger with fries, and mozzarella sticks. TBH, all were just amazing!!! Can't even explain which was my fave because they were all so good, and it was definitely a great value for just $20.
The drinks were also pretty good! I choose to get the Jagerbomb, which they offered with Rockstar instead of Redbull, but still good for $10/drink.
The staff were also super friendly. Although we were off in a small corner, multiple waiters kept coming by to see if we needed anything.
Overall, had a blast there and 100% recommend for a chill fun night with friends.

Read moreWent here for a beer and some food with a friend. We didn't realize it was a Conservative Party bar. We had a few beers and dinner (both food and drink selection was really good), but then the bar filled up with people and we were wondering what was going on. Someone got on an extremely loud microphone and they started talking about how they 'shouldn't be ashamed to call themselves conservatives'. We immediately felt uncomfortable being surrounded with so many ashamed, privileged and well dressed men that we left in a hurry. The event was apparently sponsored by nickelbrook brewing as well, which was also...
