Bulk Barn — Restaurant in Toronto

I usually go this Bulk Barn#679 (at the Stockyards) on Wednesday’s for the senior discount. This past Wednesday, (Dec.18/24) early evening, the store was nearly empty except for one small group of people, hovering around the area that had dried and candied fruit, 1 staff in the next isle filling up some bins and another staff at the 1st cash, doing absolutely NOTHING. The group of people were blocking the bins (that I needed access to,) and eating from them like it was a free-for-all buffet. I asked them to move so I could get to the bins and at the same time commented on not to be sticking their hands into the produce and eating. They didn’t move nor stop sampling.

I approached the staff person in the next isle who was reluctant to accommodate a paying customer over the group that had their dirty hands in the bins and eating. I tried again to access the produce I came in for, but the group of people turned on me and became really loud and nasty, verbally assaultive, attacking my age and disability, using foul descriptive language and starting to stand too close to me. I walked away, stopped at the cash, told to the cashier about the hostile encounter I was just subjected to, unable to shop because of that and was leaving the store. The one and only response I got of this Bulk Barn employee was, ’So you are not buying anything?!’ Really?? The glimpse I got of the bins of dried fruit were just about empty and the whole floor was disgustedly filthy, produce from the bins, smeared on the floor, the build-up looked like it had been like that for some time. (I mentioned the dirty floor and the empty bins as well to both employees, both just starred off into space, totally apathetic.) Not only was this a complete waste of my time, but really put me off ever going to this Stockyard location. The cashier in particular, didn’t give a shit about a customer’s complaint about being harassed, discriminated against and obviously requiring help and at the very least assisting me with the produce I originally came into this Bulk Barn, for. At least the other staff guy was...

I've always enjoyed going to this location until today. I called and asked if an item was in stock and they assured me it was so I decided to order it online for instore pickup. After about 4 hrs of hearing nothing I had to call back again to confirm my order was even ready for pick up. 2 hours later I traveled to the location to pick up my order and they couldn't find it. Nobody would take responsiblity so they offered to prepare the order right there and unfortunately it was sold out.

Eventually they did find my order and after all that, It was incorrect...

I took it anyway, because I needed it for my business but the fact that they said they had it in stock and still gave me the wrong item, shows me everything I need to know about going back there in the future.

Plus in both phone calls, the employee was rude! and then to get there and see that my order is wrong?.. super frustrating!!!

I am very dissatisfied with my experience at this bulk barn...

Yesterday I went to the bulk barn to some free almonds I was wearing my mask for protection as they mandated us to always wear a mask to my surprise when I scooped up some of the almonds that was on sale there was a fermented strong smell eminating from the container soooooooooooooo strong I almost fainted with that smell that was trapped in my mask I had to leave that store on keele and St clair immediately to remove my mask this smelly almonds is totally unacceptable for human consumption why should I be whereing a mask in your store containing rotten food supplis my dear people you should be very much be ashamed of yourself I would not recommend nor would I feed this to my pet parrot are mixing spoiled food with fresh that is against food...
