If you are looking for fresh and authentic flavour profiles, chances are Butter Baker has got it. Went in for the first time today after hearing so much about it on social media and through others, and this one of the few places where the hype is worth it.

I got the flavour of the month, Piña Colada, and as someone who doesn’t like Coconut, this was honestly so refreshing. There were very finely grated pieces of pineapple mixed into the mango passion fruit sorbet , and the coconut ice cream itself wasn’t too heavy either. They complimented each other really well, and the portion size is just perfect enough, but can comfortably be shared between 2 people.

Upon entering the store, they also seemed to have what I can only assume is a collection of small business products for sale. There were many cute and hand made items like candles, jewelry and unique flavours of Cotton Candy. It was like a nice little indoor market that you could take a look at before heading in.

Some thing to keep in mind when visiting: In the main area of the store, there is a dining area where you could sit and eat, however there is a 90 minute maximum seating time limit enforced. This would be ok for smaller groups, but may be something to keep in mind for bigger parties interested in staying longer. The main area of the store where you order your food is fairly narrow and can easily get crowded on a busy day. If you are going there with a large group, that may be something to keep in mind. Going on a busy day also means you may not receive your ice cream in a waffle cone because they may have ran out. I didn’t mind this because I prefer cup to cone, but it is something to keep in mind. Lastly, the menu is at this particular location is simply printed on paper and posted to the side of the wall as you walk into the main area of the store. With a group of more than 4 people, it can be hard to see. If possible, I’d suggest taking a look at their menu ahead of time or their social media page on instagram to get an idea of what you would like to order before hand to save you the trouble of having to stand in the doorway and choosing.

Overall, it was a great experience with really refreshing flavours. It’s the perfect treat to enjoy with friends on a hot summer day. Safe to say I will be returning, and look forward to the new flavours of the...

Good service but food isn’t anything to write home about- especially for the price. I feel about deceived by their instagram as the ice cream looks much bigger on there and definitely not worth 9$ with tip (which tbh i’m conflicted about over soft serve ice cream). I was shocked honestly. It was alright, but the açai flavour was much better than the passionfruit with a whiff of banana.

I am writing a review because this isn’t my first bad experience with this bakery. I thought I would try again but was left just as disappointed for different reasons. I wouldn’t recommend going at all honestly, you should take your business to another place. Staff are very friendly but food just is not worth it. My previous experience here was a few months ago when I stopped by for their famous slices of cake. I’d heard so much about them and was excited to get some for my partners birthday. I arrived at 1:30 expecting to have no issue but they had no cake slices until 6pm. I was not the only customer having this issue either, the person behind me had to leave as well since they were there to purchase slices. It wasn’t because they didn’t have any cakes baked however- they had many in the display, just not sliced. I understand keeping whole cakes for those who want to purchase them but I would appreciate at least having 1-2 options available as slices as they are highly advertised and promoted by other’s reviews. a 5hr wait is a bit ridiculous.

I however was taken care of after this experience at Nadège in the path and I highly recommend it. the pastries were expensive 10-12$ a cake after tax but they were incredible, not too sweet, perfectly balanced and absolutely stunning. they made the birthday memorable after having to run around and find a new option. expensive but the taste, appearance and experience render it appropriate.

i don’t take writing bad reviews lightly but i hope this helps those of you who are thinking of coming here.

tldr; staff lovely, food and experience not worth the price, no cake slices before 6pm and very busy.

thanks, sophie

edit: i read the bakery’s response; thank you very much for your response. i appreciate your reply and context :) i feel like i understand more about your store...

I’m writing about my deep dissatisfaction with the service my friends and I received during our visit to your café on Saturday evening, April 5, 2025, between 7 and 8 p.m.

When we arrived, we requested a table for four and were initially told one was available. However, we were then offered a small table for two and asked if that would be acceptable. Naturally, we assumed additional chairs would be provided. When we asked for them, a staff member responded curtly that no extra chairs were available. This response was not only dismissive but also left us questioning why such a table was offered in the first place if it couldn’t accommodate our group.

Lucky enough, a group of six who were leaving kindly offered us their table. We accepted and sat down, hoping for a better experience. However, after scanning the QR code menu, we were shocked to find that the majority of items on the menu are unavailable! This level of unavailability is unacceptable, especially for the very basic items that customers reasonably expect to be in stock. The online menu clearly reflected this and only added to our frustration.

In an effort to get clarification, we approached a staff member with a few questions. This interaction was just as disappointing. The employee responded with indifference, offering minimal information. When my friend inquired about cone sizes, the staff member preferred not to speak, and she simply pointed to a sign stating cones weren’t available. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was genuinely upsetting.

At that point, we made the decision to leave. The entire experience felt disorganized, poorly managed, and frankly disrespectful. Undoubtedly, this was the last time we visited this cafe.

I’m submitting this complaint with the expectation that it will be taken seriously. I believe your customers deserve better, and I would appreciate a professional response addressing the issues we encountered.

Thanks for your attention and...

Hey, so my wife and I went to this place 'cause everyone's been talking about their soft-serve. I had no clue what to expect, and it turns out they only have one flavor at a time. My wife ended up getting the pomegranate one. As for me, I was craving some coffee, and I didn't want the usual stuff from Tims. So I ordered a 12 oz americano. I recognize that multitasking is essential for efficiency, but it can also introduce risks. In this instance, the staff member preparing my coffee was not paying close attention and the beaker-type container was not properly aligned with the two spouts of the espresso machine, resulting in spillage. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, expecting her to address the issue with her colleague. However, she merely realigned the container and proceeded to pour the coffee into my cup as if nothing had happened. I apologize for any confusion caused. I should have clarified the situation to her at that time, but I was unsure of how to proceed. I simply shrugged, hoping that she would understand my intentions. With a hot (scalding) coffee in one hand and a rapidly melting soft-serve in the other, we proceeded to the dine-in section. As we were about to sit down, we were informed that it was not permissible to consume only the soft-serve in the dine-in area. However, we were kindly advised that there were ample vacant seats at the nearby food court in AoB, where we could comfortably enjoy the food we had just purchased from them. I must say, the soft-serve ice cream we had was quite disappointing. It had a large dip in the middle, which left us feeling rather let down and as if we had not received what we had paid for. Due to this experience, we regrettably lost our enthusiasm to return and sample their other offerings.
