Kind of what I expected for an Indian roti place trying to franchise itself like any other fast food joint. Had the Korma Chicken roti. While large enough to feed two people, if there was a Big Mac version of roti, this was it. The sauce had an okay flavour but salty (like fast food usually is), more sweet than tangy, and not as creamy smooth, kind of wet and grainy. The chicken was more uneven, some chunks were tender, others were dry. The biggest problem was the roti shell. Rather than a nice, soft, warm shell, the top was chewy and the bottom was hard. Not crispy hard, stale hard, almost like the whole thing was warmed in a microwave. I threw the bottom of the shell out after scraping the filling off.
Can't really rate the service as I just ordered ahead and ran in to pick it up. I came in, they pointed at my bag, I picked it up and left.
Price was comparable to the roti places I've been to.
What to do then when I enjoy good roti so much but I'm too far from the authentic places? If I ever try the place again, I'll ask for the roti on the side and try...
Read moreThree days ago (March 1st) we went there and ordered a level 3 vindaloo, and a level 6 chicken curry, a ginger ale and a root beer from a really sociable guy. It was really great food that left me sweating and sure I was dying from the heat... but wanting more! We left a tip and planned to come back the next day.
Kids got in the way so it got delayed.
Today, we got a completely different experience. We got a guy who barely eye contact, entirely monotone, and he made the zombies on the Walking Dead seem like great dinner guests. Ordered 4 samosas, a level 0 butter chicken, a level 4 butter chicken, a ginger ale and a root beer. The foods is good, the service sucked, and the server/cook forgot the tamarind sauce for the samosas... so check your order before you leave.
For a $45+ meal we expected a consistentcy of service. Not sure if we'll go back, and I feel bad...
Read moreNOTE: This is my review for this location only as I have had different experiences at another location of this chain.
Having eaten at another Butter Chicken Roti restaurant and enjoyed it, I was excited to see that they had one closer to where I live. I ordered a butter chicken roti and a rasmalai. The butter chicken was nowhere near as good as my experience at the other location and would rank as worst I have ever had. The sauce, although reasonably flavoured, was extremely separated without a silky texture and the chicken was very tough and tasted old. The rasmalai was inedible due to a very bitter taste and I discarded it.
I would have given the review one star if it had not been for the excellent service from the staff who were very helpful and polite. I hope that they can improve the quality control across the chain as my experience at the other restaurant...
