Had dinner there tonight. I don't write a lot of reviews, but my experience today cannot be left undocumented for those considering this place. Food is not bad, but service was horrible. We walk in, order and sit down. 10 minutes later, the server is running around trying to fill a dozen food delivery orders (as opposed to in house customers), I still haven't received any water and another couple walks in to order the same sandwiches we did (chicken and the steak). Another 10 minutes after that, food is finally ready, but server decides she'll serve the other couple first with our sandwiches. So our fries get cold while the chef hastily prepares another two sandwiches for us which we're ready another 5 minutes after that. Meanwhile the door is kept propped open so the temperature in the place drops 10 degrees. The whole experience was negative and frustrating and they can't seem to get their business model straight. If I'm walking in and paying up front like a cafeteria, why on earth am I being asked to leave a tip for the service I didn't know at the time that I wasn't going to receive? I ended up leaving a generous tip up front for what I didn't know would be terribly frustrating service. This is a local spot that opened not too long ago which I had high hopes for. Sandwiches are decent, but I can't recommend the place...
Read moreWay too expensive for what you get. $30 with tax for a chicken sandwich and brussel sprout salad, no drink included.
The food is alright. Honestly as far as fried chicken sandwiches go, there is a lot of competition in this area putting out a better product for less. The Cuban was good, but again why is it $15+tax? For just a sandwich? I will echo another review here and say this is "beyond inflation." I went during peak times and the place was empty.. it has potential, I want to like this place.
I went here twice, really wanted to find a reliable sandwich shop in the Village. The atmosphere is actually nice, beers in the fridge, could be way more popular if prices were lower.
Sadly I won't be returning a third time. Too expensive for a quick lunch, not as substantial as a dinner elsewhere at the same price.
To the owners if you read this: I suggest either increasing the quality of your chicken, including a soft drink if you're going to charge $11 for a side, or overall just lowering your prices even a dollar or two. I would go once a week if I could get a Cuban sandwich, small fry and can of coke for $18, or $25...
Read moreIf you're looking for sandwiches that hit hard (in the best way possible), Knuckle Sandwich is the place to be. This Toronto gem takes classic comfort food and elevates it with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and bold flavors that leave a lasting impression. We started with the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, and honestly, we could've stopped right there-crispy, golden perfection with juicy, tender meat inside. But we powered through (for science, of course) and moved on to the Smash Burger, which was the ideal balance of seared beef, melted cheese, and pillowy soft bun. The Flank Steak Sandwich was easily the showstopper-packed with rich, meaty flavor and just the right amount of sauce to bring it all together. To mix things up, we tried the Baja Bowl with Added Chicken-a fresh and hearty alternative, proving that healthy doesn't mean boring. And no meal is complete without fries, so we dove into the Carne Asada Fries, a loaded, indulgent masterpiece that had us scraping the plate clean.
