Sushi Bay — Restaurant in Toronto

I have visited Sushi Bay a couple of times, and without a shred of doubt I can confirm that the people praising this restaurant have the same kind of ignorance that this business exploits to make money.

The sushi at this place is absolutely sub-par, it is never made with truly fresh fish, and the rice is always lacking it's bounce. If your order involves meat, whether chicken, pork, or beef, it will always be overcooked, completely dry.

The ramen broth has absolutely no flavour, it is just salt water. The egg they gave with the ramen was overcooked, and today I genuinely found a HAIR in my ramen, I am not kidding.. If anyone from this restaurant is reading this, please, please, please improve the quality of the fish, the hygiene practices in the kitchen, and please hire a chef that loves their craft!!

This is the closest japanese restaurant to my home, and it really makes me sad that it's so low quality. If anyone is considering buying sushi from this place, please reconsider and buy sushi from the OneZo near this place, if you are planning on eating other japanese dishes, please try a different place downtown.

The owner of this place is the most rude person I've ever encountered! He yelled at me and my friend for making a remark on the seaweed salad. The roll and sashimi that I ordered were fine, but the seaweed salad had a "funny" taste to it, so I brought it to his attention, as one does when at any restaurant. He offered to give me half price discount, but then continued to yell over and over that I couldn't say that about the seaweed, how dare I say that?! I asked for him to please lower his tone which only enraged the guy even further as he kept yelling at me and then proceeded to remove the discount he had offered and I had to pay full price for a seaweed salad that had funny taste and I didn't finish. I paid for the meal because at this point I really didn't care and my review it's not about whether I should get a discount or not, its about how poorly this man reacted to my comment, which btw was given in a very polite manner. Rude rude rude! Totally unnecessary behaviour from this...

Just ordered dinner for 3 of us and they gave me the wrong order for one out of the 3 which was no problem. I ordered delivery and gave them the wrong order back and was expecting my stuff to be delivered back to me. 15 minutes later I receive a call saying I wasn’t receiving an order back because they made a mistake and didn’t add it to my order and said they would charge me full price and plus delivery to send it back. Would not let me speak to the manager to compensate my dinner at least at a discounted price or at least free delivery while everyone else ate. Unacceptable customer service for a someone that spends a lot of money there. The lady answering the phone may be nice but has no skill whatsoever dealing with an error SHE caused.
