Caffiends is a beloved student-run cafe tucked in Victoria College! Here are the reasons why itâs a great campus spot:
Drinks: Caffiends has a variety of espresso and tea beverages, as well as hot chocolate. They also offer plant-based milk for no extra charge which is so awesome! I personally am a fan of their Lavender London Fog and Matcha Latte.
Baked goods: they have a nice amount of gluten-free and vegan items! The cinnamon roll is wonderful.
Pricing: Caffiends is extremely affordable! They have regular coffee for $1.75 and tea for $2. Their items are very budget friendly!
Staff: this cafe is run by volunteers and they are so kind! Iâve always had a pleasant experience interacting with them.
Space: Caffiends is in a cozy room that has a cute bookshelf, couches, a table and chairs, and a wall table with high rise chairs. There are student newspapers and board games in there as well. Keep in mind that all drinks are served in reusable mugs, so make sure youâre okay with staying in Victoria college to ensure you can return the cup when youâre done. If you can, I recommend bringing your own tumbler if youâd like your drink to-go. I do this regularly and have never had any issues with it.
Overall, Caffiends is a spot worth supporting and I always leave feeling content! I highly recommend visiting when you...
Read moreCozy and inviting cafe - perfect for U of T students looking for a casual study or hangout space. They have amazing $1 drip coffee, plus the whole gamut of standard cafe tea and espresso beverages. They have plenty of affordable snacking options from local suppliers that are fair trade, organic and vegan whenever possible. My favourite is the vegan coffee cake muffin! They're huge on sustainability so no paper cups here! You're welcome to take their ceramic mugs away and it's an honour system to return the mugs afterwards. Alternatively, bring your own thermos and they're happy to fill it for the same price no matter the size. There is limited seating however and the cafe gets quite packed between classes and in the early afternoon. Open Monday to Friday during fall and spring...

And their products are all good quality. Technically, you have to bring your own mug if you want to take out your drinks (they don't stock paper cups) but they have this amazing policy that you can take their mugs around campus -- just bring them back eventually! I had an excellent camino hot chocolate (they stock milk, dark and spiced chocolate varieties) and a chocolate chip cookie. They have cow's milk, almond milk and soy milk. An...
