Had food delivered today. Partial order was missing. Called in and were told that it would be on a credit. Last time we picked up was missing part of the order as well and were told the same thing that we never ended getting. Decided to go to business and get a refund for missing item and speak with owner about last couple experiences. Was originally told owner would come out. Minutes after another employee informed me that owner was not in and offered me thier number. I did receive a refund however was left to feel like my business was not Important to this establishment. Prior to leaving the property I noticed the owner and asked to speak with him. I explained that last couple of times things were missed on the order and wasn't looking for anything, however just wanted to provide the feedback as I felt that the business and employees should have gone above to make things right. I would have excepted having the remainder of the order delivered as I had paid originally for the order delivery. I would have accepted a simple apology for the inconvenience. Both employee and owner did not offer. I understand that I'm only one customer and that the business may succeed with or without my business. I manage 2 businesses currently and am reminded based on these types of experiences why we go above and beyond for our customers. I would never tell another business owner how to operate their business practices, however I hope that they can use this as constructive feedback in order to keep existing customers. Thank you...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of the Claremont location for over 10 years, so this review pains me to write but the dufferin location is awful. Went in on a Sunday and waited over 15 minutes for a tiny Caesar salad (rip-off!!!) and a steak sandwich. First of all cashier kept moving bags and answering phone while I stood in front of her and waited (how many times can one gal rearrange 3 paper bags?). Secondly - the women cooking need to have the health inspector called on them (what I’m doing next after review!). One inch long fake nails and no gloves is not hygienic. Neither is handling food after you spend 10 minutes wiping down a counter and fail to wash your hands in between.
The nail situation is disgusting. I watched as she used her bare, unwashed after handling dirty rag, inch long fake nails to handle the cooked chicken cutlets. Proper food handling course is in order; I shudder to think what goes on that you can’t see. The cool kept asking for her drink and they all were chatting and joking around, wiping a filthy workspace, while I waited for what turned out to be a major disappointment. Soggy rubbery steak (steamed??) and half cooked onions. What happened to California’s amazing food and service? The people working at Dufferin don’t seem at all concerned with food quality (slapped on the bread unevenly not cut or cooked properly and the nails ewww). Counter service was the opposite of friendly. Will never go back but will be calling...
Read moreI've been a customer of California Sandwiches for over 20 years, the best location is the original location near Claremont St and Dundas St W....No other franchise can compare, but this Franchise on Duffiren and Castlefield is by far the worst. The staff are decent but seem overworked, the food is horrible in comparison to other locations, and the organization in/out the restaurant is ridiculous. Everytime a customer walks in they feel forced to ask if you are in line because there is no clear signage stating "line up here" "pick up order here"...I have been eating at this location for 2 years now hoping the standards would go up, but today was their last chance. I will never go back to this location because the "Former Drug Attick Parking Coordinator" has an attitude problem, so my question is, if you're in the customer service industry but dont like greeting people respectfully than why even do that type of work?. I guess some people have no choice (brain damage), but I have a choice never to spend money there again. I run my own Architectural Business in the area and would not recommend this location to anyone. I will bring my money to the location I know everything will taste and feel great YUP!! Claremont & Dundas !!! I feel so bad for the cutomers who eat here, just know there is better and we dont have to settle for this low standard California...
