A Flavorful Middle Eastern Gem – Taste of Shawarma Delivers!
If you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine with bold, satisfying flavors and generous portions, Taste of Shawarma is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of spices, grilled meat, and fresh bread lets you know you’re in for something special.
Ambiance & Service The atmosphere is clean, casual, and welcoming. While it’s more of a takeout-style setup, there’s enough seating for those who want to dine in. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful—happy to make recommendations and customize your order if you have dietary preferences or allergies. Service is quick, even during peak hours.
The Food Let’s talk about the real star: the shawarma. Whether you go for the chicken, beef, or mixed wrap, each bite is packed with flavor. The meat is tender and perfectly seasoned, with a good balance of spice and smokiness. It’s clear that they marinate it well and grill it to perfection.
The garlic sauce is outstanding—creamy, garlicky, and the perfect complement to the shawarma. Add in their fresh veggies, pickles, and warm pita or saj wrap, and you’ve got a meal that satisfies both your hunger and your taste buds.
Their platters are also a must-try. The rice is fragrant and fluffy, the hummus is creamy and rich, and the portions are very generous for the price. You’ll likely have leftovers. The falafel is crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and seasoned beautifully. It’s clearly made fresh.
Value for Money For the quality and portion sizes, the pricing is very reasonable. You get fresh, made-to-order food without breaking the bank. They don’t skimp on ingredients, and everything feels thoughtfully prepared.
Final Thoughts Taste of Shawarma isn’t just a quick bite—it’s an experience. Whether you’re new to Middle Eastern cuisine or a longtime fan, this place hits all the right notes. From their succulent meat to their creamy garlic sauce and friendly service, it’s clear that they take pride in what they do.
Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back—probably sooner than I...
Read moreThis food just made me sick. I feel nauseas and I have a headache. Literally worst experience at this restaurant. The restaurant was not a vibe. Literally the most sour energy from the moment u go in there. I couldn’t understand why it was so sour in the place until I started talking to the 2 staff that were there. They were just so cold and put no care into the food they were making. Literally threw garlic sauce into the container of the lid instead of putting on the food. They are would understand everything in conversation until I asked what part of the chicken do you use for the chicken fries.. then suddenly can’t understand. I asked what type of hot sauce is it… suddenly they don’t understand English. Meanwhile they understand everything else I said to them. Like what? Ok now; the food was just so gross. Like the meat was flavourless and had hard chewy nasty pieces in it. The fries are cavendish frozen fries and they couldn’t even bother to use fresh oil. They charged extra for sauce without even mentioning it. They judgementally questioned after I was about to pay and they already made the food if that’s all … are we sure 1 large chicken fries (which is a ton of food ) is enough for my partner and I. Literally this place is not a vibe go to Lonzos on Dundas instead. They use tender spicy chicken breast and make the food with so much care. It is delicious and better than osmows and not even comparable to this horrible restaurant. Honestly as I type this still feel so sick it’s actually getting worse ew. Waste of money and time and my life. This place should...
Read moreThe ingredients are typically fresh and spectacular compared to other shawarma places throughout the GTA. Their portions are what makes them and the reviews speak for themselves. However, there is only one size of shawarma wrap and is relatively large. You definitely get what you pay for.
I kindly asked if they were planning on having at least two sizes for the wraps. The person over the counter didn't speak too much english and didn't really get what I was suggesting. Anyways, if they read this review perhaps I could speak on behalf of everyone else that there should be wrap sizes to select from. This portion is a lot for a lunch serving and its way too messy and pack up for later consumption.
They should create the exact same wrap they gave me and try to eat it without getting their hands messy. It's just simply a quality suggestion and if they can't...how to expect the customers to? Perhaps its the pita itself just tears too easily but I don't have a problem eating a wrap at any other shawarma place without it leaking all over the place.
I come back maybe once every two months to see if the wrap has changed in any way but I am probably setting myself up for disappointment everytime, but I still want my shawarma fix. It's a shame that the taste of the ingredients is brought down by the overall experience of eating. I've had the other plate dinners and were generally above average tasting but nothing...
