This spot is a total gem if you’re into old-school, no-frills bakeries. They’ve got all kinds of classic breads and buns - nothing fancy or artisanal, just good, solid staples. The shelves are also lined with jarred goods, canned items, and a great selection of cured meats. You can even get a custom sandwich made on the spot. But today, I was here for two things: the Polish sausage grilled fresh on the BBQ (only $4!) and their rosehip-filled donuts - 3 for $2.75. Yes, you read that right. These are the kinds of spots that remind you good food doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Authentic, unpretentious, and just plain awesome.

It's the summer time so this review is primarily for the sausage vendor in front of the deli. This is such an excellent Street meat spot! The Polish sausage is incredible and quite different for other usual vendors. The bread is fantastic to boot! Toppings are traditions with sauerkraut, pickled hot peppers, onions etc. I had this a few weeks ago but I'm salivating thinking about the sausage. Highly recommend trying this place when you're in the area! Great deal at $4 too.

Really large selection of freshly-baked breads and European produce. Wide range of imported goods too that probably quite popular in Eastern Europe. I ordered a couple of fried croquettes (possibly Polish Krokiety) - meat & cabbage with mushroom. The lady at the counter very kindly warmed them up for me and although mildly seasoned, were quite tasty for a snack.

Authentic deli with a variety of meats and sweets and everything else. The fresh bread here is marvellous, especially the cheese bread. Everything is priced low. I will add a quote from my friend

"I find that rating delis on internet outside of "bad food" or "not enough variety" is just centered in customer entitlement. "the cashier didn't smile at me" is not a good reason to rate someone badly. Esspecially because Delis are difficult to run, and cashiers often have to settle for minimal wage and long hours. I know I wouldn't...

Fresh deli offerings. Passable baked goods. Service ranges from cold to rude, possibly racist. On more than one occasion, I have watched the counter staff ignore customers of colour who have obviously been next in line. Other customers have had to advocate on behalf of the ignored. I much prefer supporting Benna's Bakery further south on Roncesvalles. Friendly and far more organized.

If Chicago is interested in improving its customer service, it would benefit from a...
