Coffee By Joy — Restaurant in Toronto

Unfortunately I have to agree with Larry and AW (the previous 2 reviews) I decided to try this place instead of Terroni thinking its always nice to support the small new independent owners. Their coffee (Americano) was so watered down and honestly tasted awful. I almost wanted to send it back but out of politeness didn't. I read the owner's previous comments and Joy said they like to serve the coffee soft and light? (Which by the way doesn't sound appealing to a coffee drinker) I'm guessing you think people should like watered down coffee? I'm sorry but we don't. And your coffee is on the higher price end. Felt like I was paying for mostly water. I'm sorry but I'll be sticking to Teronni across that street who always serves double shots with just the right...

Edited to add reply: The “softer” coffee flavour is uncommon because it’s what baristas are trained to correct - it is weak, flavourless coffee. Even a cortado which is 50% espresso and 50% milk tastes only like watery milk here.The prices also do not reflect the fact that there is half the caffeine as other cafe’s beverages. Customers should be told that the baristas are asked by the owner to serve weak, single shot espresso. If you like the flavour and effect of coffee, this place is unfortunately going to disappoint.

Very nice place but so far the filtered coffee has been flavourless and the espresso is watery. With their premium coffee prices I recommend they work on dialling in as the atmosphere is very nice but the coffee is not...

Super cute coffee shop located across the street from MOCA. Discovered this hidden gem by chance while looking for places to have coffee near the museum.

We got the chai latte, cappuccino, and raspberry butter cookie. The chai latte was exceptionally good! Perfectly balanced tea taste and not watered down.

Absolutely love the minimalist interior complimented with wood tones! Their cups and utensils are also soo pretty. They offer a range of coffee and tea drinks as well as some baked goods, like cookies and cake. They have an assortment of home goods on sale too, like pottery, soaps, and incense.
