My family and I are vegetarian, and there aren't many options on the menu if you are. The waitress I assume was the manager or owner came off kind of rude, we asked for refried beans instead of the meat portion and asked for cheese. She said cheese was extra and that the meal came with cheese. The menu isn't as clear as you may think, Real Cheese means real homemade looking ricotta cheese. Not the American cheese we are normally used to, so if you're looking for cheese like that this isn't the place to eat at. We ordered nachos which did seem to have American cheese but it was extremely hard to see, as in they were very very easy on the cheese and because of that the nachos weren't that good. We also ordered guac with nachos which were good, probably the best thing we ordered. Our entrees included enchiladas which we did not enjoy, the rice had no flavour, the enchiladas had that real ricotta looking cheese (crumbly) on top but put on lightly. The enchilada sauce didn't taste flavourful either. Also when our plates were served the waitress’s dangly with charms bracelet fell into my plate where the sauce was while she was reaching over to serve the other plate over mine. I saw the bracelet drop sauce back onto my plate which I thought was not hygienic at all. Which kind of grossed me out. We also ordered quesadillas for the kids from the kids menu, and it was the smallest meal i've ever seen for kids in the Etobicoke area. When I say small I mean good for a 5 year old type meal. Their meal came with a tiny tiny side of sour cream (like a creamer size), and it was watered down ALOT my kids were grossed out. Not a compliment. Our waitress didn't bother to ask us how our meal was nor did she care to wonder why we wasted 70% of the food we ordered. We had ordered sides of refried beans as well, and that for some reason came with real cheese the ricotta looking kind sprinkled on top. Not sure why as that wasn't stated on the menu. We only went because the reviews seemed good, but for vegetarians I would say NO. Meat eater maybe. Our bill was over $100+. All I have to say is being cheap with ingredients for meals isn't the way to go! Menu should...
Read moreUpon arrival, as I opened the door. The ladies working there gave us just a look and one gave us side eye, they did not greeted us or said anything when we walked in. This is very uncommon even in our Latin American countries nevertheless in a Hispanic restaurant.
I went and asked the menu to whom I believe is the owner. She was nice, and told us to sit down.
I got the flautas and my daughter got the campechano tacos. The flautas were full of cheese for all the cheese lover but bland and were under salted. I had to put a lot of salsa to just give it some flavour, other than that the portion was good. As for my daughter, she was pleased with the large meat portion. She enjoyed hers.
I had the horchata which I enjoyed, came with plenty of cinnamon and not water down unlike other places. My daughter got the dragonfruit lemonade, refreshing.
What saved the meal for me was the churros! They were cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and softer in the inside. I wished they served it with the dulce de leche instead of the chocolate sauce. But was still good!
No one checked on us to see I how was our meal or if we needed anything else as any restaurant with good customer service and we cashed out never asked how was our meal or if- nothing.
So much potential and yet it...
Read moreUnfortunately, we didn't have a good experience.. the fish tacos were so oily, and the tortillas saggy that couldn't be eaten.. I had the white Pozole, and it barely had any pork on it... however, their homemade limonaria lemonade and tostadas were really great. We complained with the owner about our main dishes, and she was not quite friendly and got upset about us giving her this feedback. Then, when we discussed the same matter with our waiter since she asked us if we wanted to take our food home... but as mentioned before, there was nothing good to take home... so when the waiter told the manager, she again came to our table and told us not to pay anything. Of course, this was not our objective. We even got offended by that. She could have been friendlier and offered us a better option instead of the approach she had. I'm pretty sure it is a good place with other delicious meals, but our choices were not their optimal meals.
And, now we are reading the reply to our review, and we are extremely speechless by your response. However, I was not surprised by the attitude you gave us on that day. Lady don't lie, we did NOT ask anything for free; what we asked for was to have the oily fishy saggy tacos REPLACED for...
