Cowboys Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

I am a bit disappointed I have to write a bad review for this resturant. I just finished an activity with a group of friends so we looked for a nearby resturant to eat at. Based on the ratings for this place is seemed really good so we decided to go here.

As soon as we got there we decided we wanted to sit in the patio, it was around 7 to 7:30pm. We ordered our food and asked for water assuming we would get FREE tap water in a cup. Unfortunately the waiter gave us 4 water bottles which we had to pay for almost $3 each.. The wait time for the food took SO long by the time we got our food it was past 8pm and we decided to switch to go inside the resturant because the sun was already down, was getting cold and the smell of the garbage (i think behind their building) was getting to us. I thought that ATLEAST the food was going to be good with all these good reviews but I was VERY wrong. A lot of the food wasnt even warm. My onion rings were cold. The ribs were so dry and small. I asked all my friends how their food was and they all said it was "okay" or didn't like it. The prices didn't even match the quantity of the food, def not worth the price. Plus it was served on tiny IKEA charcuterie board. My food kept falling off due to no space, it was not practical. Only things that were practical were the pasta plates and the big meals served on a bigger board. I actually cannot believe how this place has a high rating.. Not my type of food or place. No music inside but atleast the decor...

Ordered from them today, everything was sub-par. The meat was overly fatty and untrimmed. Fries were soggy. My partner got the Texas poutine and we literally had to pick out the meat because it was disgusting. She also ordered a Caesar Salad and was unable to eat it because there was a long dead mosquito in stuck to the chicken. The donut was equally sad and disappointing, very greasy and nothing like the picture. Was supposed to be a dipped chocolate donut and we received a donut drizzled in chocolate syrup. I tried to call to rectify the situation and the employee said he would call me back in an hour so he could speak with the "boss". It never happened. We tried calling back and it goes immediately to a voice-mail that isn't set up.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Poor customer service, and even worse quality for food. Beware and stay away unless you want to get sick.

UPDATE: I received a phone call from someone posing as the owner. Who said at first the most they can do is give us another salad. No option for a refund. Then harassed me for putting an honest review on google. He then accused us and the delivery driver of planting the mosquito in a sealed container within a sealed bag. Demanding pictures. No integrity at all.

He called me twice today and told me to remove my photos from the review. Not happening. The constant harassment is very telling of the management style. I've sent him an email twice as per his request and he claims not...

Came in here for the first time on Mother’s Day, after work, to bring home some sandwiches. This gem of a restaurant is close to work & home, so I thought “why not check it out”? Man, was I happy I did. After reading the delicious menu I decided on the Louisiana shredded pulled beef sandwich. I was cheerfully greeted by Sean, the owner as soon as I walked in. After placing my order with his friendly staff I was told that it would take about 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready. That’s what I like to hear. While waiting for my sandwiches Sean made sure I was comfortable and asked if he could get me anything while waiting. After assuring him that I was fine I asked him about his place and his history. Wow, he kept me company and entertained while telling me his story of how he got involved in the culinary industry. He then asked about my work and thanked me for working in a long term care home. Those 15 minutes seemed like only 5 minutes. Anyways, after getting home and indulging in my sandwich, I can honestly tell you it was, and still is, the best shredded pulled beef sandwich I’ve ever had. The beef was perfectly smoked and well seasoned and the portion was plentiful. The homemade buns were very tasty and completed a perfect balance. Everyone else at home enjoyed theirs just as much.
