This was a beyond great experience! It was my birthday a few days ago so I ended up going to D-Spot to celebrate with a group (about 6 other people) of close friends. We all came in at about 4:50 and the waitress immediately noticed us and sat us down in one of the corner tables. The menu had so much to offer and the staff were really helpful and patient even though I am a bit indecisive. And side note: the decor in this restaurant is so great to take pictures!! We didn't even finish our photo-taking session and the waitress already had our food prepared at around 5:10. At the end of the meal, they gave us our bills and we quickly paid and headed out :) I definitely recommend going to this D-Spot location, the service is really nice along with the food and decor! Our waitress was always smiling and very polite. I'm definitely giving her koodos for keeping up her patience with us. If you do go to this location, you should try to get the girl with the braid and glasses to serve, she's amazing! The food is also so amazing, I ordered the 'Chill to the Cone' and it was so delicious. It was an ice cream cone with fruits scattered around along with chocolate syrup drizzled all over. Out of 5 stars, I would probably give it a 4.7. It's super good, don't get me wrong, I just felt too full and I forgot banana's kinda suck. That was my own personal fault for not telling them to not put bananas in and I'll remember to do that next time :) Otherwise, I think the food was delicious and had large portion sizes, will definitely be dropping by here again!

D-Spot is the spot for a Friday night. The interior design is extremely aesthetic with a retro-vibe, and the neon sign perfectly blends into the city night. The place is very well-lit and brings me positive vibes. I like the songs they play here. Definitely a pleasant place to hang out. The staff members are all very friendly and properly dressed, and their enthusiasm really adds to the bright mood of this cafe. They even offered a free bonus dessert in return for a review, but the five-star is totally well-deserved. When I opened the menu, I was blown away by how colourful it was. There are a wide variety of desserts to pick from, including some healthier options, but most of them are straight up diabetes on a plate. But hey, that’s exactly what we were looking for when we came to this bar anyway. The desserts arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and clearly a lot of effort have been put into the making of these plates. They looked just as vibrant as the pictures in the menu, and the proportions were massive. Every plate has been carefully decorated with fruits on the side, and the plates were completely stacked. In terms of taste, it’s way too sweet and nothing but sweet, but still very enjoyable. My drink was some of the best hot-chocolate I’ve had in my life. Had a blast here, 10/10 recommend.

Unfortunately I would not recommend the D Spot to anyone. To begin with service was EXTREMELY slow. I arrived around 6 pm on a Monday with a group of 5 people. The plan was to get dinner and then dessert. A waitress took our order right away which seemed promising, but she returned 15 minutes later to let us know that the veggie burgers two of us had ordered were no longer available because they didn't have any in the kitchen. Only other veggie options were a veg pizza or poutine. Burgers run between $13-15 and do not come with fries or any type of side. If you would like to add fries and a can of soda that is an additional $5.99. Our food took about 40 minutes to begin arriving after ordering, but it didn't come all at once. Two members of our group received their food and three of us continued to wait. Of the two burgers that did come to the table, one was not fully cooked and had to be sent back. About 20 minutes later one more order came to the table, a not so great pizza. And it took another 25 minutes for the last orders to come. When you go out to eat as a group it would be nice for you all to be able to eat together as opposed to food coming out in 20 minute intervals. We had to go to the counter to get water because no one ever came to the table to give us any. And when that was done good luck getting anymore. We did end up ordering dessert because that was what we really wanted in the first place. The dessert was pretty good just took forever to get to us. Portions are really large and can easily be split with someone else. Food is overpriced in general. Our waitress was not happy, whenever we did see her. And the only time we saw her smile was when she was bringing us the debit credit machine While the dessert was pretty it wasn't worth all the trouble. Definitely plenty of places in the city with better service and delicious desserts Thanks for your response. I will send a follow up email and I will update my review when I receive a response

I visited with my girl friends the other night, we were quoted a 25 minute wait time but ended up getting seated within 10 minutes which was awesome. They were busy, but seemed to have quite. Few staff behind the counter yet only one girl serving seated customers. We ordered our food and drinks and they came quickly, the portions are massive so consider sharing if you don’t have a big stomach! All of what we ordered was tasty, well presented and like I said, super big portions! Our server was nice but, where they miss a star is when we were finished, plates piled and waiting for our server to pay the bills it seemed like she was ignoring us, instead she took the orders, delivered food AND cashed out two separate tables all while we were waiting. Eventually a man came over and offered us more water and we asked if he could let our server know we were ready for our bills. I get that it’s busy, that’s totally fair but it seemed we were being ignored as well as seeing nearly 5 staff standing behind the counter while only one was catering to multiple tables doesn’t seem practical. Otherwise we did have a good time, and will come back to try again.

I liked this place. This was my first time there. The staff weren't very diverse - almost all were South Asian, but hard working and super nice. They didn't really know much about the origin of this franchise since one of my friends really likes to know historical information (I don't know why). I tried a waffle with ice cream and lots of fruit. Other friends had similar things, but one had a burger (which was odd because we went "to have dessert" - yes, the same history friend). My order cost me about $15 but the portion was quite large! So, some of my friends had to help me finish despite my ability to eat large dessert portions. I was glad I got them to switch the caramel with strawberry sauce. The ice cream was quite sweet already, so the strawberry sauce just made the whole thing more fruitier. The fruits were ok, could've been fresher, but it was 11pm. I'm not sure if melon really went well with the ice cream. I think peaches, mango, and/or pineapple would've been a better alternative. A sprinkle of lemon/lime sauce could've added flavour as well.

This place and Omar rocks! Such incredible client service and phenomenal food. My sister and I came in to try a new spot in town as we heard such incredible things. The spot is busy which is a very telling sign in Toronto. It is vibrant, fun, lovely decor, with cozy booths. Not to mention the free wifi is a plus (we got some work done during our visit). This spot is known for outstanding desserts but we actually came in for the wonderful poutine menu! They've got over 10 poutine options, nachos, sausages etc. We each got the supreme veggie poutine which was delicious, and the portions were HUGE. Regardless, we each ordered our own and finished them because they were THAT good. Omar truly goes above and beyond making your experience enjoyable. We ended up staying for three hours just because we were enjoying ourselves and the food, and our server was very helpful too despite being slammed when we first arrived. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to try a hip and yummy new location with great food and people in Toronto!
