Happy Canada Day!

Today is not only a celebration of our nation’s rich history and diversity, but also a great opportunity to explore some of the spaces that shape our democracy. On this special day, doors are open to the public—including the legislative offices—giving you a rare chance to go inside and experience firsthand what it’s like behind those important walls.

As you walk through the halls, you’ll discover a wealth of Canadian heritage. The walls are adorned with beautiful artwork and paintings that reflect the history, culture, and spirit of Canada. Many of these pieces pay tribute to significant figures—leaders, visionaries, and changemakers—who have contributed greatly to building the Canada we know and love today.

It’s a chance to learn more about the values we stand for, to appreciate the progress we’ve made as a country, and to be inspired by the stories of those who have helped shape our society for the better. So if you get the chance, take a moment to visit, explore, and reflect.

Wishing everyone a joyful and meaningful...

Why I love the place so grand a sight, at least as my eyes make it so. At times it can't be a slice of something divine by tongues definition of taste. At times a slice nah a piece of legislation bordering upon beauty only found upon Art. It should almost stand to be, Every piece that leaves such as it is, from the efforts, believes, debates, speakers presiding all the while, creating so many Great Works. All the while the public, kept on repeating, you forgot, forgotten, overlooked, disregarded this right, that right, my rights. Tis now I not believe what your Act tells me, till now we all thought seperate, tis till now that was the norm. For the hopes of a new way, the hopes of all to reform from the one which is given so much. That the many seek to form, one within many, all into one, yet still one it shall have to be for the many found as they justly want to be. Right? ♥️Love always, everlasting♥️ I know...

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario is more than just a place where laws are made — it’s a true piece of Ontario’s history and democracy. Located at Queen’s Park in downtown Toronto, the building itself is an architectural beauty, blending classical design with modern elements.

Visitors can take guided tours that offer an in-depth look at the province's political processes, the rich history of Ontario, and the work that happens within the iconic chamber. Whether you’re interested in politics or just want to explore the grand halls, it’s an insightful experience.

The surrounding grounds are beautiful, too — perfect for a stroll. If you’re in Toronto and want to experience a unique, educational, and cultural spot, the Legislative Assembly is definitely...

The 30 minute tour was free. I appreciated the price, and I did not expect a full history lesson of the building, it’s architecture, and the Legislative body. I also appreciated how courteous the security staff were. The building, displays, art, and history are what make this tour worthwhile. However, the tour and the information relayed could be improved significantly. Maybe it was the tour guide, who seemed annoyed by some of the questions raised. The tour guide spent 10 minutes total throughout peppering the group with sometimes interesting and sometimes random information, and then let the group meander aimlessly in between. This tour would improve with substantive and poignant information delivered in a cohesive presentation.

We visited the legislative building today. Due to coronation of King Charles III-everything was free. No ticket has to be purchased while entering, also all rides in carnival were free too. Its a historical structure and a good place to visit. While entering you have to go through a security check-kind of airport security check. There was a guide too who explained every side of the building. There is a souvenir gift shop too inside the building. All staffs were super welcoming and well behaved. Overall it was a good experience.

2024 May 4★ Doors Open event. Free 30 Minute Tours also available by booking. Paid Parking within about 7-10 minute walking distance. Interesting items about the legislative assembly. A bit of history and learn about what goes on. Portraits of past Mayor's can be seen. Worth checking out with the kids and learn about how democratic society works. Cafeteria inside. Though might be off limits. Small Souvinear shop at the exit. Entrance at the front, just left of the main doors. Security screening in effect.
