I bought a groupon for $40, it was named food for four people. This option is no longer available on the groupon site. I've been to other Indian restaurants that say X amount for X amount of people but they never care how many people you actually have as long as you present the groupon, for example mount Himalayan restaurant. If you have a choice, please go to Mount Himalayan. I went in to Daiko with one friend and after ordering the food was told by the owner that he would not accept my groupon as I didn't have 4 people. I had a smartphone so I went to groupon and bought the voucher for 2 people at $20. If you do the math, $12 for $20 for 2 people means you only save $4 per person. Further, he would not bring 2 bills to subtract $10 from each bill, there had to be only one bill with the $20 subtracted. The owner claimed he would lose money on the $40 voucher and that I should ask for a refund from groupon. Not worthed and wouldn't have bothered coming here if I knew this before. It was embarrassing to have brought my friend here. The food was average, nothing special. Around 1:30 on a Monday afternoon when I went the restaurant was 90% empty, when we left around 3:00 we were the only ones there. Very telling of the poor...
Read moreI have always wanted to try Himalayan/Nepalese foods! Lucky for me Groupon had a voucher special for $12 for $30 worth of food for two people and that’s how this journey began!
Although it is also and Indian restaurant, it is a great introduction to Himalayan/Nepalese 🙂. A asked a fellow Yelp Elite to join me in this journey and she loved loved the experience as well. I believe what made it really great were the staff and ofcourse the delicious foods.
We ordered: An exotic dish from the country of Himalayas, Khasi Ko Jhol (Goat stew on bone prepared in Nepali style), Chicken Momo (Typical Nepali style dumpling, steamed and served with tomato achar), Indian dish: Chicken Madras (Spicy chicken tempered with curry leaves, black pepper, and a touch of coconut cream), and an order famous Indian leavened bread with garlic and butter
The momos was something I always wanted to try, some people just think dumplings and yes it is but who does not like 🥟??? I’ll definitely be back! The madras was nice, twinge of sweetness from the coconut. The Ko Jhol was on the salty side but so good! Lots of flavour!

Read moreCustomer service not great, quality of food marginal, and prices decent. Menu selection was also pretty decent.
I went out on valentine's day for a bite-to-eat with some friends, and this was the only venue that wasn't all full.
The waitress I responded in a very condescending fashion when asked if a certain item was on the menu (where we got the impression that we did something wrong, while we found it difficult to find the item we were looking for). Also, there was a sign on the wall that a certain menu item was not available that day, yet we were offered it and told it was available. After I ordered it, I was told that it was not available.
The food that I had had an excess of tomato sauce, and some of the food that my friends had was too spicy to the point where he had trouble eating it, even though it was supposed to be very lightly spicy.
All-in-all I do not see me returning to this venue based on my...
