I am writing this review in the hopes that the owners actually read it. My husband ordered takeout last night, and the quality of the food we received was extremely poor and underwhelming.
The lo mein was very dry and tasted like it had been sitting in the back for a long time. It did not taste like it had been freshly cooked at all. My husband mentioned that when he picked up the food, he was told to "put soy sauce on the noodles" because they were so dry! I find this completely inappropriate. Why couldn't you have put the soy sauce in the noodles yourselves as you were making them? Telling my husband to add the sauce in the noodles because they were so dry shows you already knew the quality of your food was poor. So why serve it to us?
The "fried" rice was also underwhelming. It wasn't fried at all, and instead came soft, bland, and flavorless. We had to "add soy sauce" to the rice, just like we had to do for the lo mein.
The spring rolls were a complete shock to me, as I have never in my life bit into a soggy spring roll before. Spring rolls are supposed to be hot and crispy - the total opposite of what received last night.
Finally, what was supposed to be the main star of the show (General Tao Chicken), became the worst part of the entire meal. This was the worst General Tao chicken I have ever had in my life. It tasted nothing like General Tso's! It was SO extremely salty, that I had to spit it out as soon as I put it in my mouth. It had no flavor at all, except for the crazy amount of salt.
I am so disappointed. Do you know what it feels like to crave Chinese food on a Friday night and order from a Chinese restaurant, only to get the worst Chinese food you've ever had in your entire life??! I'm not sure if it's because we placed our order at 7:51pm on a Friday night, or if that's just what the quality of the food is like in this restaurant - But one thing is for certain, we will not be ordering from here again. I'm so sorry. I hope you improve the quality of the food you give to your customers. I never leave reviews, but our meal last night was so bad that I had no choice but to...
Read moreSorry, just can’t give this place a pass - D+ at best and I’m not too fussy about Chinese food. Placed a large takeout order for 6 adults, so I had a chance to taste a fair number of dishes and was left largely disappointed. Some dishes are passible (ie 6-7/10) whereas others aren’t (ie 3/10). Spring rolls are tiny little sleeves and are about as thick as my pinky finger – radicicolous. The Kung Pao Chicken and General Tao Chicken were indistinguishable – both breaded, same sauce, and largely the same vegetables and was very blan (5/10). The Singapore Vermicelli was inconsistent – some parts fine, other parts the noodles were dry to the point of being hard, and there was clumping of currier power (3/10). Similar experience with the Cantonese chow main (1/10). Noodles on top where fine, but the noodles underneath were dry and hard without any sauce. As hard as it is to believe, I think they’re premaking the noodles, and freezing them in the takeout containers, and then just ladle in the sauces and stuff when they’re going out the door. That explains why the top noodles were fine/hydrated but the bottom ones were not – that’s my best guess. I also can’t say I was found of the calamari in the Cantonese chow main – added nothing to the flavor but gave the dish an off smell. Wanton soup, fried rice, and a couple other dishes were fine but nothing that had me going back for seconds. First time & will be my last time. Too bad, pictures of the location made it look promising. I often attend other similar looking places downtown for lunch, with similar prices, etc. and they blow this place out of the water. Perhaps their in restraint food quality is better?? Just...
Read moreAwful. I ordered a few dishes from here tonight, and every dish had something wrong with it.
Singapore noodle was sauce-less, (colour is supposed to be yellow, the noodles were white), tasteless and old. Crispy chicken - well, it was covered in sauce and not crispy. Lemon chicken - batter wasn't fully cooked Lemon chicken sauce - watery, wasn't great tasting. Then, the WORST part. My won ton soup. As I was on the phone complaining, I took a bite into the won ton (I thought the broth was delish!). It was completely RAW. I asked on the phone what type of meat it was, she said chicken. I got so upset! My son had some of the broth. My husband and I packed everything up and drove over to the restaurant (as she requested), and I was there for 30 minutes fighting to get a refund. Finally a nice young boy came out and gave me a full refund.
horrible service, she refused to call the owner/manager. - I even threatened social media on her, and she still refused to give a full refund. I took photos of the meat, and made sure I took a few home with me just incase I get sick. Horrible experience, and will never go back. I'm also contacting...
