My cousin and I were casually in Scarborough area and were super hungry so we went all out lol. For around $90 we got crispy Kare-Kare, all-day Tocilog breakfast, coffee float, buko float, a turon, pack of chicharon/pork rinds, and the Instagram famous sizzling bulalo with bone marrow. The sizzling bulalo was for sure worth the hype. It reminds me of how sizzling is in the Philippines only double the portion size from back home. Shout out to Kuya-chef that gave us extra gravy. It had also peas, carrots and corn on the side like Filipino sizzling plates. I couldn’t finish the whole portion to myself so my cousin had the rest. Sizzling bulalo with bone marrow 11/10 for sure. The crispy Kare-Kare was a bit on the saltier side though 6/10. Turon and the floats were normal. It wasn’t anything special but did taste how I turon, coffee float and buko float was supposed to taste like. The cup was large too. Two people could have shared in one. Tocilog had a nice tanginess on the marinade and the java rice was flavorful. We brought back home the chicharon for our family and they liked it as it had solid pork pieces on the rinds. I’d come back for their sizzling bulalo for sure and try sizzling...
Read moreAs much i want to support filipino businesses as a filipino myself. I cannot take this anymore.
I bought a single order of palabok. And pork bbq sticks. And i was shocked that the total was 33.88.
Not only that i asked why it was so expensive, and they reassured me and said they fill it to the top and the cover was the type to let them pile it on; so hearing that i said ok im ok with it...
When my order was ready i took it home. And when i got home i realized they convinced me that i was getting something more when i wasnt... I was severly dissappointed of the price and the portion. Knowing that the cost of making a whole palabok party tray would probably make me less than 20 dollars to make...
And the pork bbq was pretty dry as well.
Lying service gets them a 2. They were kind but them lying or falsely telling me the product would one way and it coming out a next is inexcusable.
While the food tasted good, the portion is too small, and the price is too high...technically the worst of both. And atmosphere was meh.
I order from them from time to time but i dont think ill be...
Read moreI finally had a chance to eat lunch at Day’s Kitchen second branch after Althea’s parlour. Hubby ordered 2 Fresh Lumpia. To my surprise, it was huge and very authentic Filipino dish. They nailed it. Yummylicious! I ordered the trend sizzling “ Bulalo” and it was Filipino/ Canadian version because of the veggies. My daughter ordered Crispy Sinigang and she likes it with steam rice. We enjoyed our dine in experienced so as the food. I told their staff to tell Days before we left to tell the owner (Day’s) that Marlene came for a visit with her family and lots of stars. I will highly recommend this restaurant. And we should support the local businesses specially Filipino restaurants. One of them is Days Kitchen who’s resilient, hardworking and helping our kababayans by giving jobs to them. May God bless your business and continue your journey. Be mindful of reviews, instead of degrading, let’s support them and they need...
