Denny's — Restaurant in Toronto

Unfortunately my experience at this location was not good. I normally like Denny's but too many things go wrong at this location, including ordering through UberEats. Dining in, it took forever to get our food and there was only one or two other people in the restaurant so I didn't understand that. There was nothing wrong with the food. It was all good. But our server was very rude when it came time to use my gift card, which they even advertise on the wall at that location. I asked about the card before we even ordered. I had gone there to specially use the gift card that was supposedly waiting for me from the owner at the desk (this was gesture to make up for all the bad/incorrect/sloppy UberEats orders). The server came back and told me it wasn't there and to come back at a different time even though we were already sitting down. I asked them to please check again. They found the card. After our meal, the server came back to us and said we couldn't use the gift card because they didn't know how to imput it with the register and there was no management there to help. I said sorry but we came all the way here to use this gift card, please find another way. I had a $25 gift card and she tried to give me a bill that she said gave me 20% and tried to convince me it was the same amount off. She argued with me even though my math was correct. It was about $20 more than my bill should have been. I kept saying no, this is incorrect. She rolled her eyes and got upset but went to the cash with another server to try and figure it out again. She came back again with an incorrect bill. Finally the only way they could imitate the gift card was to charge me for two drinks (which created almost the correct bill total). All in all, this was a horrible experience, the server was rude even though it was their fault and made us comfortable. All servers should be trained on how to properly accept gift cards, especially since there is a huge advertisement for them inside...

The worst experience ever!

It was my birthday, and I decided to treat myself to a birthday Grand Slam at Denny's restaurant. I inquired about the possibility of getting the meal as takeout, explaining that I was not sure if I could dine in. However, I was informed that takeout wasn't an option due to their policy. So, I decided to dine in, even though I was a bit pressed for time, as someone had kindly driven me there, and I didn't want to keep them waiting unnecessarily. Upon entering, the waitress at the front took my order, knowing that I had others waiting for me. However, I ended up waiting at my table for about 30 minutes before another waitress asked me what I'd like to order. This made it clear that the initial waitress had failed to take my order as expected. What made matters worse was when I noticed another customer arriving and placing a takeout order, only to receive their food within 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I continued waiting, and my order wasn't served until the one-hour mark. To my surprise, it wasn't even presented on regular plates but in takeout containers. The real disappointment came when I got home and found my pancakes burnt, nothing like what I had expected (look at the pictures). I believe this entire experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I have been to this location on 3 seperate ocassions now. I am quite a fan of Denny's personally and was excited to find out a new location would be opening up nearby. On all 3 occasions I am dissapointed to say it has been a mediocre experience. Last night my Fiancé and I decided to stop at Denny's after work. I ordered the Club Sandwich with dippable veggies, and my Fiancé got the Sante fe sizzlin skillet. The Club Sandwich was pretty standard although I would have enjoyed a better meat-to-bread ratio. My veggies seemed to be "old" as a few of the cucumbers were wilted and dry. My Fiancé's Skillet came nice and hot. Although flavourful with a nice kick of spice, it was incredibly oily and the potatoes were very soggy. Our Waitress was incredibly polite but she did happen to forget our water we ordered and we did not recieve it throughout our meal. The location was not very busy at the time (5:00pm) so our service was very fast and we recieved our food within 10 minutes. This location definitely has potential and I may consider another visit in the future. I can see them doing very well in the area if they improve on their food and attentiveness. At this time I cannot seeing myself reccomending this location but my opinion may change if...
