Having read all the great reviews, we thought we would stop here for supper before a show across the street. We weren't blown away, that's for certain. The host was very curt with us. At first I thought it was because we weren't the usual demographic, but another mom and young daughter arrived after us, and they were greeted with delight and the same host was charming to them. We ordered the sushi and sashimi combos 1 & 2. I realize these are likely common orders, but the rolls were clearly pre-made. The rice was bordering on stale, and the fish was not of the quality I would expect in Toronto -- a few nigiri still had pieces of skin on them. All condiments are on the side, so there was no wasabi holding the sushi or rolls together. I was given a tiny portion of wasabi and ginger. When I asked for more wasabi, it clearly was an inconvenience. As for atmosphere, it's what you'd expect -- they aren't going for a fine-dining feel. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, but watch out for the too-small toilet seat in the women's (you'll get a nice pinch). The presentation WAS very nice, so I give points for that, and the edamame, soup, and salad were very tasty. We usually eat at our local sushi restaurant in a small town in rural Ontario, so I thought we would be really wowed coming to the "big city" for sushi. Turns out, our small town place knocks it out of the park.

All 5 stars and it's no wonder as the service is impeccable, food is fast but AMAZING, and it's a great lil restaurant I will definitely be coming back to! The cheese wonton, and although it's not my fav it was still good and the best one my partner has had. The beef gyoza was perfect, crunchy yet tender on the inside, it may be smaller than some places but it packs a lot of punch! California rolls, spicy tuna and shrimp tempora rolls are done to perfection! Spicy tuna rolls are 10/10 should've gotten 12 Last note I did find the Wasabi to be not as strong as other places, still good but only side note.

I received this travesty using UberEats. It was supposed to be salmon pizza and a roll combo ($11.50 + $16.50), but arrived looking pale, unhealthy and overall soggy in texture. A single bite of the "pizza" and I knew that was it. Visually it looked like they were using canned salmon, shiny and slimy. The rolls had a foul taste, like rancid fish. I had to toss everything. I feel extremely disrespected receiving this. Serving something that you know has gone bad is not just dishonest, it's a travesty for the business. I shudder to think of others having their deliveries here. Disgusted and appalled.

For anyone contemplating whether to eat at Hana Sushi on bloor (west of our seaton village) ….this place was selected based on recommendations from our SV group page. I had an extremely sub par experience and I will not be returning:

• Interior portrayed cold atmosphere • the temperature in the restaurant was cold (had to wear my shawl) • the soy sauce container was leaking all over the place • the taste of an appetizer was truly disgusting • the wait staff had no smile or friendly demeanour • the cook had gone out for a smoke & re-entered the restaurant trailing their second hand smoke that lingered in the entire restaurant as we ate • the waitstaff asked if I liked the appetizer (since it was left behind) I replied with a ‘no’ & they didn’t care to make the customers experience better • the waitstaff overcharged me for the disgusting appetizer & gave change as the refund instead of it going back on my card or not charging me at all since it was awful

Terrible experience for someone who doesn’t eat out much at all. Will not set foot in that...

Nice sushi place. The food is good — I had a plate of salmon sushi. The salmon was very fresh and tasty. My friends had a variety of dishes, including California rolls, fried Teriyaki, and dumpling soup. One of this restaurant's highlight is the number of spring rolls you get in the $5.50 appetizers. I was expecting two or three, but I had a plate of five to seven (can't remember exactly how many). While the service was nothing to write home about it, it was good and not below expectations for a restaurant of that kind in this area. The atmosphere is not amazing either -- the decor and ambiance are quite bland -- but there is nothing to complain about either. Prices were fair for the quality of the food. I would recommend this place for a casual dine-in with the understanding that this is not a place you go for the atmosphere. While I did not order takeout, I would imagine this is a great place to get some takeout sushi and eat from the comfort of your home or at a nearby park on a nice...
