Today, I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Fairouz Restaurant & Lounge, and what a night it was! From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the beautiful ambiance, the attention to detail in the decor, and the welcoming energy that filled the space.
The food was absolutely outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Huge shoutout to Ziad, the best chef in town, and the entire kitchen team for delivering such a memorable culinary experience. Every dish was perfectly presented and packed with flavor—I truly can't wait to come back and try more.
A heartfelt thank you to Mazen and his amazing team: Mohammed, Hamada, Anu, Annus, Murad, and Khaled. Everyone played a part in making the evening smooth, enjoyable, and full of warmth. I hope I didn’t forget anyone, but please know your efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
And of course, special congratulations to the owners of Fairouz for bringing this beautiful new space to life. You’ve created more than just a restaurant—you’ve introduced a new standard of hospitality and Middle Eastern dining in the city. Read moreMe and my friends recently visited Fairouz Restaurant and Lounge, and overall, it was a good experience with a few areas that could be improved.
The ambiance and vibe were excellent — the setting is modern, lively, and creates a great atmosphere for spending time with friends or family.
The food was flavorful, and the portions were generous and satisfying. The Iraqi and Lebanese kebabs were particularly delicious — well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. However, the chicken kebabs seemed slightly undercooked, which was a bit disappointing considering the otherwise great quality.
We also tried the double apple sheesha, which was smooth and enjoyable. That said, it was disappointing to learn that the ice pipe option, which is listed on the menu, was not available. If an item isn’t being served, it would be better to remove it from the menu or inform guests in advance to avoid confusion.
The only major issue I faced was during billing. There is a 2.4% surcharge applied to credit card payments, but this was not communicated upfront. When I noticed that my card was charged more than the billed amount, I went back to clarify. Initially, I was told the difference was due to taxes, but upon insisting a reprint of the receipt, I found that it was actually a card surcharge. To be fair, the gentleman at the counter immediately offered to reimburse me, which I appreciated. However, I believe transparency with customers about such charges is extremely important and should be mentioned before payment.
In summary, Fairouz Restaurant and Lounge has a lot of positives — great atmosphere, tasty food, and good sheesha. With a bit more attention to detail and honest communication, it could easily deliver an excellent...
Read moreI came to this place yesterday for a lunch, I like the restaurant newly renovated, plenty of fresh air. I ordered calamari, I asked the server if they were grill, he tlold me yes, but I received fry one. The good thing, I able to cancel, it's wasn't included in my bill. I ordered lentils soup 🍲, was good but to compare with other places I tried, it was better taste. Also I ordered mix of grill, my server Anis very pleasant, give me a bulgur instead of rice. It's came very nice decorated in the plate 🍽, but bulgur over spice, overred by tomato sauce, and little portion of salad 🥗 was over sour. Where time came to the bill, my server didn't bring to me the actual bill ,he just gave machine to pay with the total amount. I like to have be treated like other restaurants i vent for more than 21 years in Canada. I just wonder, is it calamari included or not in my bill, I asked Anis, he said no ,thanks. But when i have final print out bill ,I check breakdown, it's has credit card surcharge of 2.4 % of the total amount. I wrote email, and sent out to an email was provided in the website, but didn't vent true, because this email not exist I waisted my time. It must be a notice for all clients, you change additional fee for credit cards. You must give a people choice, to pay by credit cards or cash. But your server train inappropriate, unprofessional, tell him bring an actual bill and then only press the numbers on the cashier machine,or your server must to tell in advance about your credit card fee. It's very important for your business. Then I might change my mind and come back again ,and...
