I’ve been going to this restaurant for a month or two now and I’ve had some minor issues before but recently I’ve had a few dishes served with moldy cheese, and quite frankly I’m a little disgusted. Also, I received a poutine and it smelled a little funky. I love the food from this restaurant, but this is very worrying.
Edit after receiving your reply :
We were served cheese with pink spots on it, which we searched up and is stated to be a sign of mold. We had the poutine in class, so we were unable to take pictures of it and we threw it away asap. I am not sure what you mean by “raw” cheese. All types of cheese can get moldy, not matter if it’s “raw” or cooked. Our friend group has reported not only that, but also the employees touching the food with their bare hands which is unsanitary, hair being found in the food, and the poutine smelling a little off. Even if these don’t align with your rules, the fact that we are taking the time to write this review and speculate these things should say enough.
How rude is your reply? “Go do your homework.” Very classy and professional. I am not sure how many times we have to state it, but we HAVE been to this resteraunt, numerous times. We had problems in the past, but decided it wasn’t enough to report it since the workers were very nice and we thought they were just one-time mistakes. However, they seem to be a repeating occurrence. The fact that you’re accusing us of never coming to this restaurant instead of taking our review into consideration is not okay.
We liked your food, and we aren’t trying to hate. It’s actually a shame that this is happening and that these things are preventing us from coming back. That’s all we are trying to imply, and we want you to look into it so you can move forward into improving and fixing these occurrences.
Thank you...
Read moreWe were recently invited to check out Fantasy Kitchen’s downtown Toronto location, and overall, it was a flavorful experience with a few areas for improvement.
This fast-casual fusion spot offers a bold and creative menu perfect for anyone looking to switch things up from typical takeout. The interior is clean and casual, ideal for a relaxed dine-in or grab-and-go meal.
Here’s what we tried:
🍕 Caribbean Pirate Specialty Pizza – Our favorite of the bunch! The jerk chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, and the jerk paste base added a delicious kick. Topped with fresh red peppers, red onions, and mozzarella, this pizza really stood out.
🍔 Canadian Rockies Adventure Burger – A solid burger with a juicy beef patty and peameal bacon. While it was tasty, it didn’t quite stand out compared to other burger joints in the city. We felt the other menu items packed more of a punch in terms of flavor and creativity.
🍟 Original Poutine – Comforting and well-executed. The fries were crispy, the cheese curds had that perfect melt, and the vegetarian gravy was surprisingly rich and flavorful. A solid side for any order.
The one downside: service was slow during our visit. There was only one person managing the entire front and kitchen, which led to longer wait times. That said, they were friendly and clearly working hard to keep things moving.
Despite that, the quality of the food and the unique menu make Fantasy Kitchen worth checking out. We’d love to come back and try more especially the...
Read moreStopped at the Dundas location for a quick dinner w/ my cousin before catching a flight. My goodness, one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time! Ordered one of the vegan Rainbow Valley PEIs- it was excellent. It had a great texture, good thickness and it was nice & chewy. It took them a little while to make, but it was super fresh and worth the wait. The pesto had a great flavour- probably my favourite choice for a pizza sauce! Got a side of fries as well, could’ve been crispier, but still tasty. I can’t remember what pizza my cousin ordered, but he really enjoyed it as well. He didn’t enjoy the Caesar salad so much, and didn’t finish it.
My only constructive criticism would be to perhaps consider a protein source other than mushrooms for a vegan option- maybe something like pine nuts (great with pesto), or hemp hearts or what have you.. Also, the plates for the sides were a bit small and made it hard to eat. That stuff is small enough, however, that it didn’t mar a delicious meal.
When I find myself nearby again, will definitely grab another pizza from this place. Maybe...
