The email below is one I sent to corporate on Dec 23, 2024. Since the company has not responded, I think it is time to post it here, and safe to say Fat Bastard has lost a long time customer.
“To whom it may concern,
My family ordered dinner from the 2400 Bloor Street West location for delivery yesterday at 5:42pm. At 7:30pm, we had still not received our order or any updates. Calling the store was no use, as no one picked up the phone and there was no active voicemail to leave a message.
I drove over to the store myself to pick up the order. The store was empty, and our food was in a bag on the counter. The staff seemed largely unapologetic or sympathetic. I grabbed our food and asked the store to reverse the $4.99 service charge for delivery. Despite being told that they would do so, the charge has yet to be reversed.
Upon getting the food home, it was cold and the extra protein that we had ordered in two of the burritos was missing. Further, the bags marking which burrito was which were incorrect. While normally we would simply trade the mislabeled orders, I have been fighting a bad cold and didn’t want to make anyone sick so I ate the mislabeled burrito and my wife ate mine. It’s fortunate that neither of us have allergies. One of the burritos was shrimp and fish, which could potentially have been very serious to other customers. I also didn’t appreciate having to go to the store to pick up my delivery order, an order I made partly because I have a cold and didn’t want to go out.
We have been fans of Fat Bastard Burrito since we first discovered the former location on the Queensway many years ago that recently closed. Unfortunately, last night’s experience is making my family consider whether to continue ordering from Fat Bastard.
A quick look at recent Google Reviews seems to indicate that the Bloor West location has many issues and many unhappy customers. While I have yet to post a Google Review, you can certainly add me to the growing list of disappointed customers with this location.
I hope these concerns will be addressed with the store management and owners promptly.”
Update: despite emailing info@fatbastardburrito.ca on January 19th as requested, I’ve yet to hear back from corporate. Today is Feb 17th. I will no longer be supporting...
Read moreI really didn't want to post a review about my experience but the woman at the shop kept saying she would only give me a full refund unless I did. We ordered online from their website and the food never arrived. I called so many times but no one answered and there is no way to contact head office or anything to get through to the store. I had to email head office and wait a few days for the owner to get back to me and the claimed that the phone number on google was somehow wrong (they did change the number but it is not even close to the one I was calling). I was told to come for a refund and free burrito, so it sounded like they were trying to resolve the issue. Unfortunately after going out of my way and paying for parking at the location the woman working in the store was giving me attitude about me not answering her calls ( I was working during her calls, they were from a number I didn't know and no message was ever left). She then tried to not give me the full refund because she said she wasn't giving me the service fees or tip back. I had to remind her more than once that I ordered from their site and they should refund the whole amount, as if i ordered through a third party siteI would have got my money back without having to go out of my way to get a refund. She finally said if i gave a review she would give me the full amount. After calling her manager she finally gave me the full amount but said I had to leave a review if she did. She mentioned it multiple times before giving me my refund. I appreciate that the owner seemed like they were willing to help rectify the mistake initially but when I went into the location to get my refund it was a very disappointing experience. I was offered a free burrito for the mistake by the owner but the way it was offered in the store seemed like it was an issue but I wasn't interested after the whole experience, definitely wont be...
