Apulia Gastronomia — Restaurant in Toronto

We've been enjoying picking up prepared foods from Apulia Gastronomia for a little while now, and this year decided to forgo a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving and instead get lasagna, cannelloni and meatballs from Apulia for an Italian themed feast for 12 people. When I showed up early Saturday afternoon to pick it up it turned out that I had placed my online order for the wrong Saturday, a week too late! Even though it meant having to go out to buy additional cheese for our big order, Maria and Stefano saved our Thanksgiving by accommodating our order with less than 24 hours of notice. The dishes were a huge hit. Everything was so delicious and it was a real treat not to spend a couple of days preparing everything myself. We will definitely repeat this for future family gatherings! I lost my entire morning on Christmas because of their gross incompetence. I was originally told to come pick up my food at 12pm, that had been ordered days prior. I arrived early, and was told to return an hour later. I made myself busy around the area despite the cold and the fact that I had other plans, and returned promptly at 1pm. My food was still not ready. I was told to return for 2pm. I ventured back into the cold and waited for an additional hour before FINALLY, returning for the last time to pick up my food. It was an extremely frustrating experience; I would recommend to anybody ordering food from Apulia Gastonomia to TRIPLE CHECK their order time, and to additionally call in advance of their arrival to ensure that they do not have the same horrible experience that I did. We just served the porcini mushroom lasagna tonight and it was absolutely fabulous, more than fabulous, if that is possible! Everyone in the family couldn’t have been more positive! They asked if we could get it again for the cottage this summer! We’re overdue for writing this review as we purchased a bunch of food stuffs before Christmas. Everything we have ever bought including minestrone soup, Tuscan bean soup and red lentil soup, stuffed pastas, meatballs and fresh pasta have been so delicious. Maria made us amazing gluten free focaccia and other things when we had a gluten intolerant family member visiting.
