Brand new location that just opened in bloor west village (first day today apparently)! Great to have more Asian places close to home!
Note: they are offering 20% off at the moment for their grand opening ** They only take cash or debit. There's a TD ATM just down the block
We came early (around 5:30pm) and the restaurant was pretty empty. Not sure if this is the norm but there seems to be some traffic in and out. There's also UberEats if you prefer takeout/delivery. We were greeted right away and the service was good.
Inside, there's around 11, 2-seater tables which most are combined to form 9, 4-person tables and a seating area near the windows so it's not bad if you have to wait as they should be able to turn tables over relatively quickly. We got our food within 10 mins.
Food: broth was not very flavorful (3/5) noodles were great (5/5) ingredients was a good ratio to the amount of noodles in the bowl but would've liked to see more meat on the brisket and less tendon (also be careful of bones!) (4/5) appetizer (popcorn chicken) about 10 mins after the noodles and was smaller than what I expected vs other places; it could just be the vessel though as it was presented on a plate. The chicken was hot, moist, and delicious. Caution: It's a bit spicy though! (4/5)
Overall, a decent place with good service and food. A great addition to this part of town! Will definitely come back to try their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas really excited about coming here from downtown based on the reviews relative to order hand pulled noodle places. We regularly dine at GB hand-pulled noodles and various other locations located in the core. Coming into the restaurant you instantly notice how sticky the tables are. We ordered the house soup and the original with dumplings. The staff did not ask for what thickness of noodle to make even though itās on the menu. When the order came the waitress nor staff did not offer us any condiments (vinegar or chilli flakes). After I asked for condiments the cook in the back brought over an almost completely empty bottle of chilli oil. The soups came out completely water downed. The noodles were not the thickness requested. Even using the washroom was disappointing with almost no hand soup. The cook would also touch the register with bare hands and return to kitchen without washing hands in between.
The reviews on here do not seem reflective of the place. Itās likely since there is no other noodle restaurant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered the beef wrap (very simple, definitely just a snack), the scallion flat pancake (tasty!) and the house chow mein (only so-so). The chow mein felt overpriced atĀ $17, although I also understand that if the noodles are hand-pulled that's more labor. It was flavourful, but the shrimp were really overcooked and rubbery (though admittedly there were a lot of them).Ā And to be honest I think I actually prefer the thin crunchy noodles I usually associate with chow mein to the thick soft noodles here, but that's just personal preference.
Definitely better as a snack place than a meal place I think, but I'm glad to have a Chinese option in the neighborhood and will...
