During my recent visit, I indulged in their chai tea latte and a classic buttery croissant. While the croissant was flaky and delicious with its rich, buttery layers, it was the chai tea latte that truly stole the show. Each sip was an absolute delight, with a well-balanced blend of spices and a subtle cinnamon flavor that added the perfect finishing touch. The warmth and depth of the latte made it more than just a beverage—it was an experience in itself.
At first glance, the café’s exterior may seem unassuming, with its weathered look and hand-painted signage giving off a somewhat unfinished vibe. However, stepping inside reveals that this rustic charm is entirely intentional. The interior is bathed in soft white tones, creating an atmosphere of calm and serenity. Gentle, melodic music fills the air, enhancing the peaceful ambiance and making it an ideal spot to relax.
The seating area towards the back offers a more intimate and cozy setting, perfect for those who wish to linger over their coffee, savor a good book, or simply unwind. The secluded corner provides just the right amount of quiet for introspection or casual conversation.
I can easily see myself returning here, not just for the incredible chai latte but for the tranquil environment that makes this café feel like a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can truly...
Read moreI live right across from here so I have been 3-4 times. I am not commenting on the “vibe”; just the actual coffee. The coffee is pretty bad. It’s very acidic, not bitter acidic, I’m not sure if it’s from a short brew time or a blonder roast. Either way in my opinion the acidity ruins any flavours of the specialty flavours; I also think the syrup they buy is extremely sweet with no deep flavours, which does not help the acidic taste. I have mainly had iced drinks, like the banana bread one or just a plane ice coffee, but there is no real coffee bean flavour which sucks considering an ice coffee is like “$7.34”. I haven’t tried many pastries, the croissant I had was average. The hot drink are a bit better in terms of actually having a deeper coffee taste.
Overall I give this shop such a low score because in my opinion they are investing in the “vibe” and the “history” (since they’re from Australia) but I don’t think they are investing in the coffee itself. If they had better pricing I would be more generous with my rating. Toronto pricing for office break room level coffee; they’re business is selling a “vibe” not flavourful coffee.
Side note: even jimmy's coffee is like 5$ for actually good...
Read moreI love this gem of a place. I came across it or quite literally “found” this place a few years ago. Got a flat white and cute coffee tote bag. I felt like it has such cute stuff, can seem a little pricey but the quality is there-so I tend to treat myself once in a while. I placed an order online and they have such beautiful flavours and notes that I forgot to check whether the coffee I was ordering was decaf or not. Much to my surprise I ended up getting one the coffees that were decaf- reached out to customer service and within minutes I was told that I can exchange not a problem since that’s what I wanted. I went into the store to exchange but then thought maybe I should just get it refunded which I was disappointed that it couldn’t be refunded since I specifically asked for an exchanged -fair. So I ended up getting my exchange and flat white to go. Quick and easy; however, I did find that the flat white was a bit milkier than usual. The one I remember getting years ago was strongly balanced. Either way always a pleasure to go here.
