I live in this area. This restaurant is located in a small plaza off of Keele street between finch west & Sheppard avenue west.
This lot has a lot of parking spots and you should be able to find a spot immediately across despite the plaza which contains a tim hortons and a no frills.
As you walk in you'll notice plenty of seating space in a colourful area. It features several round tables which can seat 6 but most tables have 4 chairs.
In addition to the standard menu which you can find on takeout apps like skip the dishes, some contributors have uploaded pictures of the printed menu. They also have specials printed on handwritten notes near the cashier which include: getting 20% off of on your birthday free order of wings when paying cash and spending over $30 Special of the month which is a free dish of your choice when ordering $50+ new dishes recently bought into the restaurant not currently featured on the menu
I got take out for the following: chilli chicken (has gravy) manchurian vegetarian balls yeung chow fried rice (contains shrimp and chicken) curry pad thai (vegetarian - tofu & peanuts)
My order came to $39 before taxes which quailifies me for ether 10% off or getting a free order of the wings. I opted to get the free order of wings.
My order was ready within 10 minutes, and im going home to eat this. This smells delicious and the price was very reasonable. I think I will be coming...
Read moreI haven't been here for awhile and thought maybe things changed, that is not the case. I ordered a dish of General Tao Chicken and Hakka noodles, first off the chicken batter was soft when it should be somewhat crispy, (most likely the chicken was cooked beforehand and sat in a hotplate) second, instead of giving me Hakka noodles they gave me some other noodles that were round and soft, I had takeout or else I would've returned everything. Last time I come here, I'd rather spend my $15 elsewhere.
Response to owner: My girlfriend and her kids have gone their numerous times, dined in, taken the leftovers home, and the chicken was still somewhat crispy even the next day after being placed in the microwave. All I ask is for consistency. There's no way the chicken I received with my order was "cooked to order", whether it was sitting in a hotplate or something similar that was the point I was making. As for the Hakka noodles, usually they are flat and the dish has a few vegetables in it, green onions, carrots, etc. The ones I received had only noodles in it and for some reason I found 1 small tiny...
Read moreI ordered from Golden Star Restaurant and was impressed by the bold, authentic punch delivered right to my doorstep. The Bombay Fish stole the show with its tender fillet, lightly battered and fried to a golden crisp. A dark spice rub enveloped the fish, releasing an aromatic mix that awakened every sense. The House Chow Mein with Chicken was equally impressive. Thick, fried noodles formed a hearty base for generous portions of chopped, crispy chicken. The chicken offered a delightful crunch from its skin and soft, juicy meat bursting with seasoning. I also sampled the Machurian Beef with Gravy. The beef slices were tender and juicy, immersed in a ginger-rich sauce that paired nicely with the complimentary white steamed rice. Every dish arrived in secure packaging that kept the food at just the right temperature, preserving textures and aromas. While the meal may not be the cheapest option, the generous portions and satisfying sensory experience made it well worth it. I look forward to exploring more of their menu on...
