I highly recommend this place for anyone who is into AYCE Sushi and a mixed of other asian dishes (thai & korean).so when i first arrived i was already greeted by a server asking if we wanted a table outside in the patio area or a table inside (I chose inside). When i entered the restaurant i had noticed the modern and classy decor of the restaurant and really like the color scheme and lighting of the layout, it was also well maintained and kept cleaned. The music on the other hand was hip hop so for me it was fine including listening to old hip hop like Sean Kingston - beautiful girl, but what made me think is what other customer opinions would be. So moving on they do have an i-pad menu and for anyone who does not know how to operate one a server might ask in the begin but if not please do ask, they do have knowledge of how to use one. They also have a very stabled stand for the i-pad menu so it doesn't fall off the table (please see photos for example). They do have a great varieties of dishes to choose from (sorry if i couldn't take a photo of it all) and are great with their presentation of the food and the taste of the food was also really good and savory and that the hot dishes were served hot and i don't mean it was made already and was waiting there hot, i mean straight to your table hot. The other thing is that their hospitality service was superb it was friendly, knowledgeable, quick and organized. I appreciate the mangers and servers including Phillip the operational manager, Mark my server for the evening and Mike the manager (sorry if i got one of their names wrong) for making me feel welcome and well cared. Also heads up they do except cash or credit, not debit but they do have an atm in the restaurant so please do ask if you can't find it.

It's "OK" was not happy with the cleanness or the lack of it on the plates. It's Chinese run, not authentic Japanese. The menu has mixed varieties including Chinese Dim Sum, Korean food, and Chinese version of Japanese food. Crispy Tofu was good. Ramen no so good, too sweet, that's not how it supposed to taste. All the deep fried stuff was overly done, it comes as hard, not fluffy as it supposed to be in Japanese Tempura Cuisine. For example the Deep Fried Milk pudding the inside was good the deep fried skin layer was horrible and hard. Same with the Deep Fried Banana, and same story with all the other Deep fried anything. Sushi was so so, the fish is good, but the rice was horrible, it's hard, it's not soft as it should be in authentic Japanese Sushi Cuisine. Not option for Sashimi during lunch, else I'll probably have gone for Sashimi only as that was good. For comparison Matsuda in Don Mills is also a Chinese run Japanese AYCE place, but they serve quality food, same price and Tea is included. Here in this Heart Sushi drinks are extra, so the total bill is actually more expensive than Matsuda for less quality. The cost is not an issue if the Quality is worth it. Also here the Ice Cream is frozen, and the mango/strawberry yogurt are using fake toppings, they use Jam instead of real fruit nectar. All that being said the place is good to hang out, nice decor and have a great view, and selection specially if you're trying to meet a random girl. Good for the student crowd. If you care more for Quality food, then this place might not be for you.

In general sushi is highly overpriced and hyped. This place is not any different. The price is not cheap in here for the kind of food you get. It’s sushi, of course, and it’s at least twice as expensive as my belly is willing to value it. On the good side, it’s a neat restaurant with a great menu and awesome, simple, and helpful digital way of picking and ordering your food. That might make anyone’s judgment positively biased. The food itself is presented well and tastes fresh. It was not different from any other restaurant. I cannot say much else about the food itself since my impression of the food faded almost immediately once I finished my meal. It might just be me, or how sushi is, that I didn’t find the tastes any more memorable than any other sushi I’ve had so far. It’s not a bad thing in itself, but nothing special either. The staffs were attentive. Nonetheless, there was a lot of room for improvement in this respect. The place felt modern, open, and high-end. The menu-on-a-tablet system certainly made the whole experience very exciting and memorable. That adds to the enjoyment of the whole dining experience and must be credited accordingly.

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. My boyfriend and I are regulars at Ichiban Sushi Ellesmere, however it closes on Tuesday so we went here instead. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered the teriyaki chicken meal and my boyfriend ordered some fried rice with shrimp. When we got the food, I noticed that mine looked odd. Although the dish contained lots of chicken, they only added teriyaki sauce to the 3 pieces in the very middle and the other 20 pieces of chicken in the dish were completely bare without any sauce. All of the chicken was from a terrible cut as well. It was all dark meat and every piece had fat. EVERY. PIECE. I ate what I could, but then immediately started feeling unwell. My boyfriend pointed out that the chicken looked old and urged me to stop eating it as it actually made him concerned. My meal also came with miso soup and rice, however they didn't give it to me until I had to stop a waitress and ask for the other half of my meal. After a while, she brings me the rice and soup but the soup was cold and the rice was crunchy. After getting such a terrible meal I was curious and asked if I could see my boyfriend's food, and when I went to look at it, a HORRIBLE stench coming from the food made me gag and I almost threw up. (The table we were sat at was quite large, so the smell didn't come my way until he pushed his dish over to me) He has nose problems so he wasn't able to smell it properly, but the shrimp in the rice absolutely STANK. It was very old, to the point that the smell made my eyes water and had to push the dish away. He stopped eating his food abruptly. We asked for the check and left. They don't accept debit by the way, for some odd reason. Since eating what little bites of chicken I could before feeling nauseous, I've had nothing but extreme diarrhea for the past 2 days. I was perfectly fine that day prior to eating the old chicken, so I know it came from eating here. A health inspector definitely needs to check this place out. Go to Ichiban Sushi Ellesmere instead, that restaurant is...

Went here for my birthday and overall enjoyed it despite some hiccups! On par in terms of quality and price for AYCE sushi places and has iPad ordering. A little on the pricey side of things but not overly so. And they have a half off special if it's your birthday (they do check your ID to make sure though).

Service was good and quick right up until the end of the night. The staff had to clean up after a really large table had left and pretty much dropped everything else for twenty minutes. But the staff were super apologetic when they realized we had been waiting for an order for so long.

The only thing that truly annoyed me was that the payment seemed unnecessarily complicated. They checked my ID and keyed in the birthday discount at the beginning of the meal but didn't tell me until the end that you have to pay cash to get the discount? That wasn't posted anywhere online or in the restaurant and the server didn't tell me that at the beginning of the meal. Okay, fine, I happened to have cash on me for that order, asked to pay the rest of the tab with card. Got out a debit and she told me they didn't take debit, only credit (even though it was a visa debit?). Also not posted anywhere in the restaurant and no heads up was given by staff.

Also, I just kinda nodded and paid with a different visa debit and it went through? And it even SAID visa debit on the receipt, so I'm not sure where the insistence on using a credit card came from.

Overall I like this place, but the back-and-forth with payment I could've done without and if I found somewhere similar that didn't require me to make sure I had cash on hand/pay exclusively with credit, that might be enough for me to...
