Hero Certified Burgers — Restaurant in Toronto

The staff are terrible and make eating here an uncomfortable experience. Dont waste your time going here unless you want to endure the grumpy employees.

I walked through the door and was glared at by the two staff sitting in the corner, I instantly got the impression I was inconveniencing them with my presence. The reluctant server said literally nothing when taking my order, not a single word. I could hear them both laughing and chatting in the kitchen so it seems the attitude towards me was for my benefit and not because they were having a bad day. I sat down and took my coat off so was clearly planning to eat there, I was handed my food in a take out bag nevertheless. I noted that most of the lights were off (3pm on a weekend) so perhaps they were trying to give the appearance they were closed and I was disturbing them by coming in to order food. I also noted that unlike most fast food chains there were no details on giving feedback either on the receipt nor the Hero Burger website so it’s apparent the franchise doesn’t want to hear about their customer’s experiences.

There are many deserving restaurants on this stretch of Queen East, do yourself a favour and bypass this one.

2022-03-15, 4:40 pm: They do not honour their own policies of offering the meal for free if they do not give you your receipt at the time of paying. Well, I paid and was never given and receipt. When I inquired about it, the first woman said that they never have such policies, so I showed her their own sign that's on their monitor (see picture). The second woman who was the one who took my payment tried to 1) gaslight me to say that I didn't want the receipt and walked away, which isn't true because I never left the store and I was the only one at the store and still by the cash register, and I was there asking exactly about why I didn't get my receipt and I inquired about their own sign. 2) Refused to honour their own sign and made it sound like I was causing trouble when I was only inquiring if they would honour their own policy.

I am not pleased by their lack of accountability and honoring of their own policies, and how they try to gaslight and put blame on the customer instead.

I have a witness who was with me, and they were also very unimpressed and upset that the woman at the store lied instead of admitting her mistake.

Awful service....
