A Grateful Culinary Journey at Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar, with Thanks to Hasibul Hasan

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar, and my experience was elevated by the exceptional service provided by Hasibul Hasan. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, Hasan's dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience stood out.

The teppanyaki chefs showcased their culinary artistry with finesse, turning the evening into a visual and flavorful spectacle. I opted for the chef's special, and each dish was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, expertly prepared and presented with flair.

Hasibul Hasan's attentiveness and warm hospitality were a highlight of the evening. He went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, providing insightful recommendations and making us feel genuinely welcome. His passion for the cuisine and dedication to customer satisfaction added an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall dining experience.

The menu at Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar boasts a diverse selection of Japanese delights, from perfectly crafted sushi to delectable hibachi dishes. The quality of the ingredients and the culinary skill on display made each bite a true delight.

The restaurant's ambiance was vibrant and lively, creating a perfect backdrop for an evening of delightful dining. The fusion of traditional and modern elements added to the overall charm, making it a place that not only satisfies the taste buds but also offers a feast for the senses.

In expressing my gratitude to Hasibul Hasan, I want to acknowledge his role in making this dining experience truly exceptional. His commitment to excellence and genuine warmth contributed significantly to the overall enjoyment of the evening. A heartfelt thanks to Hasan and the entire team at Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar for creating a culinary journey worth remembering.

Planning to go here? Read the following!!!

I went here for my friend’s birthday as it was the entire group’s (except mine) first time to try teppanyaki.

The wait time wasn’t that long, wasn’t expecting there to be since we reserved ahead.

The service was poor, like really poor. I’ve been to a teppanyaki place in Jamaica when i went on vacation and the place there was lively and energetic. Over here it was dead quiet. The chef didn’t do any cool tricks, interact with our group or the other people at the table, and just cooked our food… that’s it, just cooked. If we wanted to see a chef cook meals for us, we may as well stayed home and cooked ourselves for a way cheaper price. What’s worse, seeing other tables go through the same dull experience. The teppanyaki part is all what they have going for them. The bar and restaurant is completely empty, almost looks like a large storage room.

There was someone who roamed around, seemed like the manager, couldn’t even speak fluent english for us to understand what he was saying. Which sucks on many levels cause we don’t know what we’re doing there.

The worst part of all… the mandatory 15% service fee… BE WARNED, YOU ARE NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS FEE! THEY SNEAKILY ADD IT TO YOUR BILL. We weren’t told about this fee at all through our time here, even when we called to reserve. Why in the world would i pay a 15% fee to someone who can’t even do a proper job? Didn’t interact with us, didn’t talk to us, didn’t even do a cool flame volcano or make jokes with us. No warning of that fee and we didn’t know until we paid and left. The manager guy stood over us as we paid to see if we tipped, which we didn’t because of the poor service and he grabbed the machine in frustration like he did something to improve our service. Again, no warning on the 15% tip, which is what pissed us all off.

To end this review, if you really want the experience and want to go badly, find a better spot to go to. If you just want to waste your new paycheck on piss poor food, terrible service, and a mandatory applied 15% fee, then...

We received a gift card for $100, so went here for lunch. When i try to ordered a drink on the menu, I was asked if I had a gift card, and when I said yes, my server told me the drink was on special and I have to pay full price instead, I order a sake instead. We were party of two and ordered the seafood combo, added a side of filet mignon, green dragon roll, shrimp temperu. Since we aren't big eaters, we thought it was enough since the combo also came with rice. The combo came with miso soup and salad as well. Our server brought the salad and soup quickly and after tasting the miso soup, I told the server that the soup was only warm and asked for a hot one, the server sounded surprised, and said oh you like your soup hot...she did returned with a hot one, but it was obviously added with hot water and not a new one was prepared since it tasted watered down and the little seaweed it had which I ate was none to be found. The shrimp tempura was the saddest I have ever seen, see photo, the shrimps were so tiny. Next came the green dragon roll, which was actually good. The seafood combo, at $49, consisted of 5 tiny scallops each about the size of a quarter, 5 tiny shrimps and a 4 oz lobster tail. We also added a sirloin steak. The scallops were under cooked and the lobster was over cooked, same for the steak, we asked for medium but it was like well done. The entire meal was over $128, and when I asked for the bill, the server said since I had a gift card, 15% is added automatically. Frankly I would have left at least 15% anyways as service was ok. Food quantity can be more generous. You get what you give, cheap out on food and turn away future customers. Attention management, increase portion size by 30% and I will come back. See photo on Tapanyaki, the food there is $70. Barely enough for 1 person. I seldom write feedback this long but I felt this place can do much better. Much room for...

Do not patronize this establishment unless you like poor service. The place is decorated nicely. It has a nice feel but the experience itself was not worth the money by a long shot. I made a reservation and was still asked to wait almost 10 minutes. When being escorted to our seats the hostess walked so fast we almost lost her. Good thing it’s not a big place . Our server was not at all prepared. She insisted that the seafood platter was raw and I had to ask another server to clarify the platter. Also tried to order drinks for my kids off the menu only to be told the menu is old and not all presented options are available. No solution offered.. ask and hope for the best. Waitress even brought us water but not the kids? We all ended up ordering off the grill only. The price is outrageously high considering they’re only giving you steamed rice with your protein. I mean $65 for small portions of meat and white rice?? Crazy. I upgraded for a couple of peas and carrots for $3.50. We had been sitting for no more than 45 min and this includes the chef cooking time. My mother ordered a drink and the waitress added it to our bill along with a forced 15% gratuity. Then when I asked for the drink she gave it to us in a to go cup and a host asked us to hurry up and leave as they had a line and they’re busy. Highly unpleasant experience. I left wishing I had gone to McDonalds. Our bill over $300 fully unsatisfactory.

My spouse and I recently visited this restaurant in Scarborough to celebrate our anniversary, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. Before our visit, I called to inquire about any promotions or restrictions but was directed to check Groupon. While this wasn't the most personalized response, I appreciated the honesty. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a gentleman who was attentive and polite. However, I must mention that the person who brought our salad was dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie, which seemed a bit lacking in personal presentation for a restaurant setting. It was reassuring to see them later change into an apron. The food itself was both tasty and entertaining to watch being prepared. While my family enjoyed the experience, we did notice that the portions were a bit smaller than expected. Service-wise, we had no complaints. The servers were polite, and the general ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. Regarding the Groupon, we presented the voucher upon arrival, and at the end of the meal, the bill charged tax on the Groupon amount and everything else we ordered. It was a bit confusing to see the tip included on my bill, but as I always tip, I didn't mind. However, I believe it should be optional for others. In conclusion, it was a nice meal, and we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for a memorable anniversary dinner.
