My 1st experience at an ice cream shop with a mission to "create lasting memories" was a spectacular culinary delight.
Accessibility; This is a small shop on the ground floor, with a very low (less than 4") step up at the door. It was easy to enter with a power chair. There is no automatic door opening button, and the standard sized door opens outward. Inside, the ice cream counter is slightly high, at my eye level. In a manual wheelchair, I wouldn't be able to see the available options. There is enough space to comfortably turn around, providing it's not busy. On my departure, the staff quickly opened and held the door for me. On the way in, another customer saw me approaching and held the door for me. So I don't know how quickly the staff might come, if you needed assistance entering.
Ice cream: Made daily, with fresh natural ingredients, including milk that's locally sourced daily.
Of the 12 available flavours, I tried the Nutella Hazelnut in a small cup.
They do not support taste testing, so I urge you to check out their menu & reviews online in choosing from today's options.
From the 1st spoonful on, I relished in the flavours of roasted hazelnut paste, drizzles of Nutella, and tiny pieces of hazelnuts. This ice cream is on another level completely. Clearly, ice cream is a passion for Onur & Simge, the culinary artists responsible for this memorable gustatory ecstasy.
Suggestions: The ice cream counter is a bit high for anyone in a wheelchair. It could be helpful to print colour photos of your regularly available options. Posting them on the side of the counter at aprox. 40"-50" from the floor.
I would like to see an automatic door opener button in the future. That could be important for parents with strollers, elderly with walkers, as well as those of us in wheelchairs.
As a customer using a power wheelchair, my reviews include a focus on accessibility features.
This ice cream shop is generally fully accessible, with responsive staff willing to assist you if needed.
As I'm rating the whole experience, the incredible 5 star ice cream is reduced by a star for the important Accessibility features.
I'd love to update my review...
Read moreIâve been a fan of their ice cream since last summer. I visited here twice this year. The flavor is still good, but the service was SO BAD. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. English is my second language. When a female staff with curly hair was taking my order, instead of nicely asking me to repeat my order, a female staff with curly hair simply gave me a nasty look. After 5 seconds of silence, she then asked me rudely âso what do you meanâ. And the owner really need to train their cashier to handle cash, instead of relying on the customer to simply pay by card. It seems like the tall white male cashier had trouble with it. I also had trouble with their POS system when I last visited (the reason I paid by cash this time) - I have sufficient balance on my credit card, but when I tapped the transaction failed to go through, and the bank froze my card for suspicious activity LOL. In a nutshell, the ice cream is good, but not good enough to put up with their staffâs attitude, and I for one certainly wonât return for more of those.
Reply to the ownerâs response: I have the right to review whenever I like and I personally only feel the necessity to give reviews when the service I received is really bad. Because of what I experienced and the response I got from you I would say that your business deserved zero stars. Hope you reflect on that when you run your business in the future. And if your customer had a bad experience and decided to give you a low rating, itâs not really their...
Read moreYou know, I thought I knew gelato. I've had my share of scoops, believing I'd experienced the pinnacle of frozen deliciousness. And then I met the mango and vanilla. They were good, don't get me wrong. The mango was bright and fruity, a little burst of sunshine on my tongue. And the vanilla? Classic, creamy, comfortingâlike a warm hug from a dairy cow who really knows her stuff. They played their parts admirably, solid little contenders in the gelato game. But then, out of nowhere, like a dark horse jockeyed by a pistachio-obsessed deity, came the pista. Oh, the pista. It didn't just win the race; it lapped the mango and vanilla so many times they probably thought they were in a different time zone. This wasn't just pistachio gelato; this was the platonic ideal of pistachio. It was nutty, it was creamy, it was so intensely flavorful I half-expected to find tiny, joyous pistachios tap-dancing on my palate. It was the Usain Bolt of gelatos, leaving its competitors wondering if they'd even started running. Seriously, if you go, get the pista. Get two scoops of pista. Get a vat of pista. Just make sure you experience the sheer, unadulterated triumph that is their pistachio gelato. The mango and vanilla are like the polite opening acts, but the pista is the headliner that blows the roof off the place and leaves you questioning all your previous...
