Beautiful Park in the heart of downtown Toronto. The park sits on what was the former Raillands of Toronto the park also features the Toronto Railway Museum which is housed in the historic Canadian Pacific John Street Roundhouse as well as it's exhilarating buildings and other Heritage Railway structures such as- The Don Station, Cabin D, Tool Shed, Coal-Sanding Tower and Water Tower to name a few. The Toronto Railway Museum operates a very cool Miniature Railway were they run Live Steamers and custom built miniature diesel locomotives giving rides around the park to visitors. In addition to this, the Toronto Railway Museum also has a really cool indoor artifact display inside Stall 17 of the Roundhouse. As well as various pieces of historic Rolling Stock throughout the park. The Museum is continuously expanding and I look forward to seeing their new tour program that they will be starting this summer. The Roundhouse is also home to The Rec Room which is a young adult- oriented arcade featuring numerous modern and vintage arcade games, restaurants as well as a virtual reality experiance. The Rec Room is the most recent addition to the Roundhouse and created a very entertaining space that will keep the Roundhouse and its Park thriving for many years to come. In addition to all this, Steam Whistle Brewery is also located in the Roundhouse. On top of producing their "Premium Pilsner", they also offer Brewery Tours, a small rotating Art Gallery Space as well as an event space which thrives during the summet months with numerous public and private events. In the back portion of the Roundhouse, Toronto Hydro is in the process of turning the former Machine Shop into the worlds second, underground electrical transformer station which they call the Copeland Transformer Station. Upon competion, Toronto Hydro will also be unvailing a Parkette with-in Roundhouse Park which will further add much value to the area. Roundhouse Park itself is ideal for dog walkers and joggers with its paths leading through the park. The park is constructed on the roof of the Metro Toronto Convention Centres Parking lot with a very unique access point located under and in the Coal-sanding Tower. The next time you are in Toronto, I highly recommend a trup down to Roundhouse Park for a very unique entertainment...
Read moreTo be far ... The little boy I took to the park really enjoyed the viewing and picture taking with the trains but when it came time to purchase tickets to ride on the mini train ( which was main reason for going ) it was impossible... Myself and others waited for the museum to open for 11:30 am on Wed. August 9th,2023. To purchase tickets... We started to gather around 11am.. but unfortunately No one showed up to open and sell!! We called the museum and the times giving were what we seen on the internet!! It read August 5 thru August 9 ... Times for train ride was 12:00 to 5:00 .. tickets go on sale at 11:30am... Well it completely sucked when that didn't happen... Lots of disappointment in the children's faces as well as the adults faces when they as well as myself had to explain that there was no train ride for them on this day!!! I called the museum the next day.. asking what happened!! The response I was given was not acceptable at all... The girl said Wednesday was there holiday Monday .. but before she said that she said they were open on the Wednesday... And when I said no you weren't... She proceeded to tell me about the Wed 9th being the holiday Monday for them.... I mentioned about the website and what it said... She was like oh maybe it was wrong... Okay first of all... The site said it was open... There fore figure it out!!
The train photos and climbing on them were a hit!!! But as for the train ride... Total flop.... And it sucks that when you travel 2 hours on TTC to get there and then get disappointed... Completely Unacceptable!!!
If we went just for the train photos and playground ... Would have been 5 stars for sure... But this...
Read moreNice place, nice management but apparently their computer system will not allow them to switch tables when first arriving to be seated even when the place is practically empty. Although there were patrons scattered everywhere, if you don't desire the seat you're offered they will not allow you to be offered another choice, again, the place was 90% empty at before 4pm and i was told it does not get busy until 7pm. Just a heads up. Wanted to try the food and play the games but didn't get a chance until after a long wait for management to refund the unused game wrist bands we bought as soon as we entered. At that time we were offered another seat but we'd long made our minds up to leave. Apparently its a software problem that hopefully will be worked out soon. There were so many spots to sit and eat and the only one we (adult & 3 teens) were offered was a busy noisy spot between a large group of very loud adults and...
