Island Junction Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Toronto

My family and I visited the restaurant on Sept 13, 2024 for our mom’s birthday. The food has always been great here and we have been here several times. We decided to try the chilli chicken since we have never tried it and we had a bad experience. The chicken did not even have the slightest bit of spice to it, and there was not a sign of chillies at all (i wish I took a photo). I asked the server if the chilli chicken was supposed to be spicy and she hesitated and said yes. When i proceeded to advise her that the chilli chicken was not spicy, she said its because I did not get the dry one and I needed to indicate if I wanted it to be spicy. This in my opinion did not make sense for 2 reasons: a) what difference does spice make if it is dry or wet and b) why would one order chilli chicken no spice. It just sucked that there was no attempt to help us make things right with our order, and the rest of our food took a very long time to come (even though the restaurant was not full, probably one other large table was there). I recently had the pleasure of dining Island Junction and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience. From start to finish, everything was top-notch and exceeded my expectations.

Firstly, the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. The lighting, decor, and atmosphere were all beautifully put together to create a warm and inviting environment. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the meal.

Now onto the food - it was truly exceptional. Every dish we ordered was prepared to perfection, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, each dish was a culinary masterpiece that left us wanting more.

What impressed me the most was the quality of the ingredients used in the dishes. Everything was fresh and of the highest quality, and you could taste the care and attention that went into each dish.

Overall, I cannot recommend Island Junction highly enough. It truly exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be returning for another unforgettable...

The food was good except a few of the chicken wings was undercooked. We ordered through Uber eats. I'm not sure about the dining. But we got the house fried rice (chicken and shrimp) which comes with the chicken on top. It was really good ans flavourful and it had shrimp and chicken in it. We got the pepper wings and the plain wings. They both were good except it was a bit undercooked. We put it in the oven and cooked it out. But they sent cutlery, extra pepper sauce like we asked and soy sauce. I would order again and I will come in person and check it out. Maybe try some other food as long as it's cooked through

UPDATE: WE ORDERED A SECOND TIME AND YOU CAN TELL THEY REFRIED THE WINGS. THE CHICKEN WINGS HAD FEATHERS STILL ON IT, THE SHRIMP AND CHICKEN TASTED FRESH LIKE THEY DONT WASH THE MEAT. THE CHILI CHICKEN IS MOSTLY SOYSAUCE AND THERES NO FLAVOUR. NOT ORDERING HERE ANYMORE. EACH TIME WE ORDER WE ARE SPENDING CLOSE TO 100.
