I have been to this place before and they have great food but today I had ordered about 17pounds of ladoos around 7pm and they had told me that they will have it ready for me at 8:30pm which was perfect as they were to be used as offerings in a temple. However when I got there there was only one person on the floor taking calls and serving people, having a restaurant of my own I understood that she is busy but then the girls starting talking to other people and about 10 mins later came to the Cash register and when I told them I was there to pick up ladoos she told me that she still had to pack them. Mind you it was 8:55 and they still didn't have my order ready. My mom told her politely that there was a reason for her calling them in advance and there won't be any purpose of her buying the ladoos of the temple is arti is done and the girl was like oh we were busy and plus it's only going to take 2 mins to pack them. I tried telling her how unprofessional it is and I understand that she was busy but if someone is calling and requesting you to pack it in advance atleast have to be nice enough to do that. The lady replied that I can check her camera and if I am ordering this much ladoo I should place them 2 days in advance. I am sorry why would I order 2 days in advance and for you to tell me that it'll only take 2 mins and I was standing in line so they didn't know I was there to pick the ladoos up. If they would have simply apologized for their mistake and not try to put the blame on me or the fact that they were busy I wouldn't be this mad. You guys seriously need tot train your staff on how to talk to people and how to admit their fault and not to blame...

UNPROFESSIONAL AND IGNORANT STAFF

Today we visited this location, as usual, as we come here all the time.

We loved this location as the staff was good and so is the food. But today we were shocked at the behaviour of the front staff who was not at all ready to help.

We ordered food and paid all only to realize we had ordered an extra veg thali. We asked to cancel it and refund us the money and gals reaction was bit strange. She gave an option to buy anything else in that price and we politely declined as we didn’t need anything other than what we had ordered. This gal finally said ok we will cancel but then she goes to the cash counter and says she can’t refund on my credit card as says they don’t have any process to refund on card and that she will have to pay cash and deduct TAX! It was bit weird for us as we thought she’s confused. But then later when I asked again she goes “I CANT RETURN TAX” and I can only pay back thali amount with no tax. And she was utterly rude and ignorant. Though the tax is just a $1 on top I can happily leave it and don’t bother but I would like to ask the management. Would you be OK if a customer refuses to pay tax on my order! Be it a $1 or $100 every penny has its value and you just can’t bluntly DENY that you can’t pay. We even asked to cancel the transaction so that we can pay the right amount with another transaction but the gal was in no mood to be considerate.

This is highly disappointing and unprofessional service. We used to come here from nearly 5 years And this was the store we used for all our catering needs. But today is the last day.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE...

I was a regular customer at this restaurant since last 2 years. I used to get thali, chana bhatura, dal, pav bhaji, veg biryani, paneer parantha all the time from them. It tasted really good before so i'd go there 2,3 times a week. I loved the food before and to be honest their prices were really good too. But I recently noticed that their food doesn't taste the same as it used to taste before. I'm not sure if they have changed the management because i've noticed so many changes. First of all, the food doesn't taste good anymore. Everytime I get a paneer parantha, there's no proper filling in it. Their chana bhatura was my favorite item from their menu, the flour and oil they use for bhatura doesn't smell good either and the chana's doesn't taste good. Their pav bhaji was ok before, I liked it but now it's worse. They have also changed the food prices. Now we get very less food for the same price as we used to get before. All i wanted to say that i'm really disappointed in the service, because this was one of the regular restaurants i had on my list and would get food almost 3,4 times a week. I honestly don't go there anymore. I really wish they look into this matter because I really miss the service I...

Stopped by Bengali Sweets & Restaurant in Scarborough as suggested by someone. It’s a small restaurant with just a few tables for sitting. The inside of the restaurant was just ordinary and definitely needs some renovation. We ordered only a couple of evening snacks - Bread Pakora and Samosas along with tea. The snacks were supposed to be picked up from the service counter. I thought they would be served in different plates but all the snacks were just on one Stainless Steel Thali plate which didn’t look good at all. The tea was hot and okay but the bread pakora and samosas were well below average. The bread pakora was hard and tasteless. It had no fillings like a good bread pakora would have. The samosas also did not taste good enough but were at least better than the bread pakoras. We left the bread pakoras as is and reported the staff about being stale and not good. They offered to replace it with anything else so we just got some sweets instead but they were also just ordinary. To my surprise, two of the chairs were also broken and shaking. I would strongly suggest the restaurant staff to invest well in their interiors and also on their quality of food.

We ordered 1lb rosogulla from Bangali sweets for my birthday. It was delivered to my place through uber eats. I tried them within an hour of delivery.with the first bit I realized that they were as hard as stone and tasted wierd. Two bites from two different people, who both confirmed that its as hard as a rock and taste aweful. This is not the first time that i was eating rosogullas. When I called the Scarborough store from where I ordered to give them a feed back, instead of acknowledging the client complaint, the store manager was defensive and on turn started to blame me. She demonstrated poor customer handling skills and were very negative about any critique. I offered to take back the product to them, and instead of offering me a replacement or a refund, i was told that their product is amazing and nothing is wrong. In short the customer is wrong and not them. I will never ever order anything from Bangali sweets.

Food - I consider the place as not a restaurant but a sweet shop; food is average and nothing to write about. Same as all Indian sweet shops serve in the area, worthy of filling the stomach but not the heart. Reviewing Paneer pakodas- the one on the right is from Bengali sweet shop, and the ones on the left are from adjoining A1 sweet shop. It tastes exactly the same. The difference is A1 does not cut the pakodas, is 50c cheaper, and serves mint chutney. Mint chutney is average, and so are the pakodas. On a side note- the shop is generally dirty. Edit- To the owner, if you doubt my credibility, I can post pakora bills. Rather than questioning, clean your store.
