I'm so happy I finally got around to trying Mango Like Desserts, as it has been on my list for quite some time. It was initially the downtown location that had caught my eye, but I was content to find out that Scarborough also had a location so I headed there as it was more accessible for me. Not going to lie, as I pulled up into the area, I was very skeptical... I felt like I had entered a very sketchy area that was abandoned, up until I looked to my left to see their nicely displayed sign.

The shop is extremely small, hence only one person/party allowed inside at a time. You'll be happy to know that they do infact have an online ordering system if you want to order ahead for pickup to avoid the wait, since it does take about 10-15 mins for them to whip up your goods. Service was friendly though!

I ordered the MANGONADA SUPREME, without any real knowledge of what it is, besides the fact that they're well-known for this item. However, their menu does have a very thorough description that matches what you get to a tee! This was definitely a unique item for me... An acquired taste, as it was literally sweet, spicy, salty, and sour, all at the same time! Also quite pricey in my opinion, but the drink was hefty to hold and had a lot of fun components to it. Worth a try and definitely a photo!

The other thing I ordered were the MANGO POCKETS, which I couldn't resist as it's a familiar dessert I love. The mango chunks were of a firmer variety, but not sour at all. The overall dessert had the perfect level of sweetness to it.

If you're looking for an added treat, they're also selling cookies from a brand named "Ida's Cookies" too. Personally didn't try them but they appear to be shortbread cookies of varying flavors and colors.

Absolutely disappointing! These were ordered to me by a friend that had them uber’d to me so I was not expecting cheap snack cakes in “gourmet” crepe pockets. This was my reaction to first time having and never seeing the menu: Their crepe pockets are a joke! Had their Mangomisu pocket, first off it had mango in it which was not ripe at all and sour, and they threw a Jos Louis inside it to claim it as a “misu”. There was no coffee of any sort for calling it “misu” as one would expect. Also had the 3 crepe pocket flavour combo, the mango one would have been good had the mango been ripe, just sour. The passion fruit one didn’t taste like anything, except for a passion flakie stuffed in the center. And the blue berry one also was flavourless and had another piece of Jos Louis stuffed in the center of it! They use cheap snack cakes as fillers or their specialty cake in the crepe pockets! That’s sad and a ripoff for the price customers pay! And for a place to have “mango” in its name, you’d think they would have great quality mangos which are ripe and sweet…not extremely sour! Wanted to give zero stars but won’t allow me, how disappointing! Check out the pics I’ve attached and the so called “specialty cake” inside is just snack cakes you can buy at Walmart for $2 a box of six 🤦‍♂️🤣 Far from “specialty”. But if you like to pay that over priced tag they have, sour mango’s, and enjoy cheap snack cakes stuffed inside your crepe pocket, then this...

Ordered to MLD tasting box for $55. I thought this was an exceptional value for what you get. And you can try a lot of their menu items within this package. The rainbow Warhol pockets were exceptionally well done. From the taste to presentation. I didn’t get the strawberry banana pocket, but got the taro one, which I thought was a good switch that was given by accident. The fillings were amazing with the ratio of filling to crepe being amazing. The mochi was really good too. Nice and chewy and super soft. For a traditional item, the red bean mochi had the best flavour. The Mille crepe cake was really tasty, but found the crepe to be a little on the flavourless side. Then we tried dipping the crepe in the sauce and then it became a whole new world. My recommendations if you want to try individual pieces are the blueberry or taro pocket, red bean mochi and blueberry Mille crepe cake. The blueberry items which I recommended for 2 different items was really good. Blueberries were fresh, sweet and juicy. Great job and definitely recommend this place. Makes for good sharing with family!
